micky mouse sound with chan_capi solved?
hi all talking to this friend if mine just now, I realised I had no 'micky mouse' sound as eaerlier with chan_capi and AVM C2. We talked in 1 hour and 18 minutes without encountering any problems whatsoever. This was him calling me, but I don't know if that's important. roy -- Roy Sigurd Karlsbakk, Datavaktmester ProntoTV AS - http://www.pronto.tv/ Tel: +47 9801 3356

is it ok to call speex_encode_int after speex_bits_write?
I'm reliably getting a corrupt stream when I do a certain encoding and decoding test. I've pegged it down to this: encoding some frames, calling speex_bits_write() and then encoding another frame produces a corrupt stream. My question is, is this a speex bug or incorrect API use? I can provide a test case (currently in python, will translate to c if needed). Thanks, Micky

gplpv: re-enabling the nic adapter removes it
I guess I have stumbled upon a bug in gplpv drivers. If you try to re-enable an nic adapter after disabling it, it just hides out of blue. And you have to reboot. Latest version of gplpv drivers and Windows 2008 R2 here. Anyone else noticed the same issue? I wonder if this is related to hot-plugging something like

qemu-kvm high cpu usage with idle windows guest
Windows 2k8 R2 guest with updated virtio drivers is idle inside but on the host qemu-kvm process uses 7-15% cpu. Things that have been tried without any significant success - removed tablet device - manually set cpu topology for cores per socket Is it just me or the qemu-kvm has little tolerance with windows?

Files being modified in /bin/
For the binary experts. I have a situation here. Something hideously but continuously is modifying the /bin/ executables as common as coreutils and net-tools. I can verify that from md5sum. First thing I checked was 'ls' and it has a checksum mismatch. So I removed it and reinstalled it. Then I moved the file somewhere else to cross bisect it. I did a hexdump on original ls file and the

nobody owned smbd processes are not ending
I am running the latest release of Samba on RH8 (2.2.7-5.8.0). I use it primarily to provide master browse functionality, and to act as a print server (using CUPS 1.1.17-0.2). I am watching a TOP session, after printing from a W2K workstation. (I restarted Samba before I did this). There is now one smbd processed owned by nobody, which is not ending (and the print has completed). In my

VPATH build of R on MacOSX
I am trying to do VPATH builds of R3.1.3, i.e. binaries built outside the source directory. It works just fine on Linux but on Mac OSX (Mavericks) I get the following trace from make, after a successful configure step. Any insights gratefully received. make is GNU make 3.81 on both systems. bash-3.2$ make make make[1]: Nothing to be done for `R'. make[1]: Nothing to be done for `R'.

samba with customized ldap backend
I have to assume much, I'll try. So... - No AD, that's some NT4 domain. - No Winbind because Winbind is using samacccountname as user login and not UID. - Issue happens on Linux or UNIX clients. The question is what tool (SSSD, pam_ldap / nss_ldap, nslcd...) are you using to retrieve information from LDAP to forge users on system side. Once you get an answer to this previous question
