PDC witch LDAP and machine account lookup
Hey all,
i do have the following problem: i set up a PDC with Samba with an LDAP
backend. Everything works fine but the machine account lookup. If i try to
logon to the domain i have to create the machine account in
ou=People,dc=testing,dc=de. Everything works fine with this. But if i create
the machine account in ou=Computers,dc=testing,dc=de and change all suffixes
according to this the

The problem is that renaming a user on Linux works the opposite way to
Windows and neither renames everything.
If you rename on Linux with ldbrename, it renames dn, cn,

No you are not, you are setting up a Samba AD DC, a PDC is something
entirely different.

getent passwd shows old name for renamed user
Hi,
I renamed user 'foo' to 'bar' on my samba AD using an ADUC on a Windows2008 Server.
Now on a samba member I see:
# wbinfo -u
....
bar
# getent passwd
....
foo:*:10001:10000:Some user:/home/bar:/bin/sh
Home dir changed, but the a name is still old.
What can I do to make getent show the new name?
I am using winbind and ad backend, here is my smb.conf:

I looked on a brand new test DC (with nss-winbind), and it looks like
it doesn't work right with winbind:
root at dc1# ls -l /var/lib/samba/sysvol/ad-test.vx/Policies/
