[PATCH v2 0/6] Unmappable DRM client buffers for fbdev emulation
DRM client buffers are permanently mapped throughout their lifetime. This prevents us from using generic framebuffer emulation for devices with small dedicated video memory, such as ast or mgag200. With fb buffers permanently mapped, such devices often won't have enough space left to display other content (e.g., X11). This patch set introduces unmappable DRM client buffers for framebuffer

[RFT 00/13] iomap: Constify ioreadX() iomem argument
Hi, The ioread8/16/32() and others have inconsistent interface among the architectures: some taking address as const, some not. It seems there is nothing really stopping all of them to take pointer to const. Patchset was really tested on all affected architectures. Build testing is in progress - I hope auto-builders will point any issues. Todo ==== Convert also string versions (ioread16_rep()

[PATCH 00/11] improve the fb_setcmap helper
Hi! While trying to get CLUT support for the atmel_hlcdc driver, and specifically for the emulated fbdev interface, I received some push-back that my feeble in-driver attempts should be solved by the core. This is my attempt to do it right. Boris and Daniel, was this approximately what you had in mind? I have obviously not tested all of this with more than a compile, but the first patch is

This is my attempt to do it right. I have obviously not tested all of this with more than a compile, but patches 1 and 3 are enough to make the atmel-hlcdc driver do what I need (when patched
