Unbootable system recovery
I have just recently (physically) moved a system with 16 hard drives (for the array) and 1 OS drive; and in doing so, I needed to pull out the 16 drives so that it would be light enough for me to lift. When I plugged the drives back in, initially, it went into a panic-reboot loop. After doing some digging, I deleted the file /etc/zfs/zpool.cache. When I try to import the pool using the zpool

zpool import -f rpool hangs
I had the rpool with two sata disks in the miror. Solaris 10 5.10 Generic_141415-08 i86pc i386 i86pc Unfortunately the first disk with grub loader has failed with unrecoverable block write/read errors. Now I have the problem to import rpool after the first disk has failed. So I decided to do: "zpool import -f rpool" only with second disk, but it''s hangs and the system is

Need Help Invalidating Uberblock
I have a ZFS pool that has been corrupted. The pool contains a single device which was actually a file on UFS. The machine was accidentally halted and now the pool is corrupt. There are (of course) no backups and I''ve been asked to recover the pool. The system panics when trying to do anything with the pool. root@:/$ zpool status panic[cpu1]/thread=fffffe8000758c80: assertion failed:

kernel panic during zfs import [UPDATE]
Hello everybody, just to let you know what happened in the meantime: I was able to open a Service Request at Oracle. The issue is a known bug (Bug 6742788 : assertion panic at: zfs:zap_deref_leaf) The bug has bin fixed (according to Oracle support) since build 164, but there is no fix for Solaris 11 available so far (will be fixed in S11U7?). There is a workaround available that works
