tc monitoring
I have managed to dynamically parse the output of commands: tc qdisc ls dev eth0 and tc -s class show dev eth0 Save statistics in an rrd database and display it via a php script. see http://143.233.4.215/graph.php and dload scripts from http://143.233.4.210/qos/ My next step in developing this monitoring software is to somehow manage to create a tree out of tc and then use it to greatly

Borrowing between HTB classes not working as expectd.
I''m using a fairly large number of classes, andf borrowing is not working as expected... I''ve called this setting it up on an IMQ device with speed 1200/256 on a 1536/384 line. I''m then throwing a UDP data transfer at it that gets tossed in one of the class under parent 1:6. The classification is working fine, but when I try to ping out, ping times are in the 900ms

newbie: TC[NG] with (256kbit/s down and 768kbit/s up) on a router
Hi all, this is really not really very easy to understand, or, to get in. Well, I''ve the following configuration on the router box: LAN - interface: eth0 - network: 192.168.2.5/24 - bandwidth: 100Mbit/s INET interface - interface: ppp0 - network: .dynamic.ip./0 - bandwidth: DOWN=1536kbit/s and UP=256kbit/s the LAN interface is to serve 6 other clients with internet and

New Qdisc - How to
Hello Lartc''s users, This is my first contact. I''m trying to implement a new queue discipline based on bfifo schedule. I search on internet but there are some problem(s) that I don''t Know how to solve them and that''s why I''m here asking for your help. Well, These were my steps for the implementation: - Put the new qdisc routine

Bandwith thinking error
Hi, I found that I had some thinking error with the wshaper script. I assigned the bandwith of my DSL connection to it, but the machine where it runs is normally connected to the LAN with 100Mbit behind a separate Hardware-Router.Obviously, the complete connection of the machine was slowed down to 384k because I told it so.I guess, since wshaper takes only one card as argument, I can''t

HTB problem...
Hi folks. Let''s say I would like to make some bandwidth control on my network using HTB. I have 2 clients: PC1: 192.168.100.2 PC2: 192.168.100.3 Server: 192.168.100.1 This has 2 NIC''s eth1 is local and eth2 is connected to the internet. It could be nice to have a script, where you could specify, how much bandwidth you want for a specific host on a network, like, PC1 has

Hardware solution? (or v.easy software fix instead)
I''m moving to a new place and my new flatmate wants a router because he likes the cleaness of it all in a non geeky way which I can understand. This means it''s going to be hard for me to pursude him to let me run a computer as a router to act as bandwidth cop. But I don''t fancy trying to use ssh, VNC and games while he''s using WindowsUpdate or p2p. So I need

HTB shaping & borrowing info
Hello to everybody, We want integrate in a router/firewall (Debian Based, 2.6 Kernel), an HTB shaper. The goal is to divide the traffic for classes of workstations, at example in three classes, let say A, B and C. Example: A 70 Mb/s B 20 Mb/s C 10 Mb/s If B don''t make traffic, 7/8 of 20Mb/s must be assigned to A and all the rest at B We have used CBQ and HTB, with poor succes. Anybody

Re:Does HTB consider PRIO or not? 2
Thanks for quick reply Andreas! > Every class is allowed to use bandwidth as long as it does not have to > borrow (the specified rate is guaranteed). Prio in HTB only affects > borrowing bandwidth from other classes... In the example below, the class > 1:5 should be allowed to borrow bandwidth before 1:14 does. Thats exactly what I want from HTB to do..to prio the borrowed bandwidth.

wondershaper tweaking

Can anyone fix this?
Hi, I appologise for the bad ettiquite of this, but I have tried looking for some HTB examples that would help me, and am having trouble understanding how the tc filters should work, but I can''t figure out why this isn''t working. I''ve written this script, based upon the ultimate traffic shaper at LARTC, to try and shape for me and my 3 housemates. The idea being to

Scalability
Hello everyone, I want an opinion from people who tryed different matching modules to match diferent types of traffic, especially p2p ones. I would like to hear which scales better as CPU usage and latency : ipp2p, iptables-p2p or l7-filter with the p2p patterns. I want to use one of them to block most of p2p (except maybe dc++ and emule which i want to shape). I would use the matching rules in

Problem with HTB and ceil
Hi, I am trying to setup a shaper for my linux box and I am experiencing some problems. What I am trying to do is priorizing packets on the egress link, therefore I have setup some prio classes etc. The priorizing seem to work but the problem is that the ceil parameter doesnt seem to work on non leafs. This is what stats show: > class htb 1:1 root rate 3000bit ceil 3000bit burst 1602b/8 mpu

exclude internal network from wondershaper
I''m having a network inside of a dsl modem and I''m using wondershaper on the computers to be able to surf while bulk downloading. The problem is that also the internal traffic is shaped, which means the internal network is at 200kb/s, instead of 100Mb/s. Is there a way to exclude the internal adresses from the wondershaper rules, or is there any other good way to solve this?
