Problems with Wine and twin view
Hello all, I'm using wine 1.3.11 on gentoo and i'm having some problems As far as i understand, in order to stop games spanning on both of my monitors i have to add a metamode in xorg.conf. So i've edited my xorf.conf to: Code: Option "metamodes" "CRT: 1280x1024_75 +1920+0, DFP: 1920x1080_60 +0+0; DFP: 1920x1080_60 +0+0, CRT: NULL" This is fine for native linux games but wine has problems When i run a game in wine that's setup for fullscreen and 1920x1080 resolution, it switches like it should to the second metamode (...

Wine/WoW not detecting monitor hz
WoW detects my monitor hz as 77, 78, 79. 80, 81, 82 but not 60hz which it should be! This causes a lot of tearing which can be annoying. Is there any way of fixing this?

wow graphics and resolution problems
I just recently just started using Ubuntu 10.10 again after giving up on windows. The problems I'm having at the moment are with World of Warcraft. I have it playing in open GL and I have the latest graphics driver that Ubuntu offers for my Nvidia GeForce GTS 250. When I play Wow it loads at a resolution that is far beyond my screen. The resolution is 3860x1080 or something close to that. I

Super Pro 9.4 / USAF question
Hi all! I tried to install and run Jane's USAF and Super Pro 9.4 with no luck. The game installs fine, but I cannot make it work under Linux (P-IV 2.5 + 1Gb RAM + NVidia 440Go (64Mb) with Ubuntu 9.10 + Wine 1.1.35 + NVidia 96.43.13). The game runs fine in this very same computer under Windows XP, and my computer exceeds by far the game's requirements. The original program (Jane's USAF)

Does CentOS support dual graphics cards with 2 monitors each?
I have a user who wants to have 4 monitors attached to his CentOS 6.4 system. I know that you can't use both on-board video and a PCI video card at the same time, but what about two PCI video cards? The system seems to recognize them as shown by the lspci -v output below, but I can't get Xorg to use the second card. Has anyone done this? If so, what is the trick to get it to work?

Sliding screen in games [again]
Okay, I've posted this twice before and if I've learned anything with Linux it's that "patience and persistence is the key". Anyway, when I play First-Person-Shooters in wine sometimes the screen will slide if I move the mouse too far to the side. Generally happens when the game hangs for a second -- trying to catch up with sound or video or when I drop the console to type

Display quirks
Hi, I was wondering if I could get some help with a small nuisance. I've been pretty successful installing and playing a number of games under WINE but I notice a problem, particularly with FPS type games: I use a dual display configuration - Nvidia GeForce 4 MX. I've managed to configure the "metamode" settings in xorg.conf so when the games go "fullscreen" and

Sliding game screen
Hello again, Does anyone know why some FPS games tend to have the screen slide sideways occasionally, showing part of the desktop (this is a dual display system so my desktop is 2048x768). I've configured the metamode settings in xorg.conf to blank the primary monitor when the games go full screen and change the resolution -- which works fine except when the mouse movement causes the screen

XRandR and Screen Resolution Again
Having spent all day researching xrandr and the use of metamodes, I want to know: Is there a way to monitor the wineserver process so that I can run xrandr immediately upon wineserver's termination? Correct me if I am wrong. I believe that is what I want done. (My problem, like that of many others, is that a full-screen game leaves my display trashed. I'...

More CentOS5 nVidia fun
In the vein of the "Can't get resolution higher than 1280x1024" and "Another CentOS 5 oddity..." threads, I just installed CentOS5 w/Xen kernel on a Sony VAIO desktop with an nVidia NV5M64 (RIVA TNT2 64 Pro) card, using an old Samsung SyncMaster 700NF monitor. system-config-display chose the highest possible resolution for the monitor and Xorg did its best to drive it, but
