Recently, we made a switch from 1.9.18 to 2.0.3. Under 1.9.18, we had local master turned off to prevent a browser election war. However, under some network configurations, (where the system was alone on a Workgroup), the system would, quite appropriately, not appear in the network neighborhood. So for 2.0.3 we changed the config file to allow election participation (local master = yes).

Hi! I've been struggling with this install of Samba 2.0.4b on Linux/x86 2.0.36. All of the client machines run Windows NT 4, SP 3. I'm exporting /tmp as pub, and if I right click in the folder and create a new folder, it doesn't show up until I go to 'view' and 'refresh'. If I delete something, it doesn't go away until I refresh. Why? Output of testparm:

Hi folks, Everything has worked great until recently when some NT boxes are no longer able to browse the Samba Server. I can still map samba drives by specifying the exact path, using Find Computer in NT Explorer, or NET USE use from the command prompt. Most boxes are still fine.
