Getting lowest latency sound?
...rtprio 99 >> /etc/security/limits.conf' sudo su -c 'echo @audio - nice -20 >> /etc/security/limits.conf' sudo su -c 'echo @audio - memlock 1500000 >> /etc/security/limits.conf' So as I understand it, rtprio is the correct #, nice is the lowest possible, and I memlocked half my RAM. In winecfg, I have audio set to 48000 default sample rate. I have an internal hda-intel soundcard (bad but better since alsa upgraded to 1.0.18). I also have a SoundBlaster X-Fi that doesn't work yet, but I'm waiting with my fingers crossed, since SoundBlaster open-sourced...

No Jack Realtime w/ Wine, Kontakt 4
Ubuntu 10.04. Wine 1.2 I'm running Native Instruments Kontakt 4 under Wine. It runs fine except for occasional stutters, so I wanted to try enabling Realtime in Jack, but I have no luck with this. (I have made recommended edits to the limits.conf file, though I've read that this is no longer necessary(?): @audio - rtprio 100, @audio - memlock 250000) When I start up Kontakt, I see

Sure there is, Install debian, follow my howto and you will have success. Just, your using an .local domain, and thats a reserved name for apples mDNS (zeroconf) And should not be used. ( same for .lan ) https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/FAQ#Can_I_Use_the_.local_Top-level_Domain_for_My_AD_DNS_Zone.3F So the info is good, thats not the problem, finding it, is. Can you post your /etc/hosts

RDMA inline threshold?
Dear all, I faced a problem with a glusterfs volume (pure distributed, _not_ dispersed) over RDMA transport. One user had a directory with a large number of files (50,000 files) and just doing an "ls" in this directory yields a "Transport endpoint not connected" error. The effect is, that "ls" only shows some files, but not all. The respective log file shows this

RID solved my problem. But while reading docs I saw new things and I changed my smb.conf completely. I have read almost every parameter but i'm still not %100 sure. Can you do me a last favor? Please can you tell me do I have any problem with new smb.conf? Kernel: Linux 4.14.13-1-ARCH Filesystem: zfs-linux 0.7.5.4.14.13.1-1 Thank you so much for your help. --------------------- [global]

pam max locked memory issue after updating to 5.2 and rebooting
We were previously running 5.1 x86_64 and recently updated to 5.2 using yum. Under 5.1 we were having problems when running jobs using torque and the solution had been to add the following items to the files noted "* soft memlock unlimited" in /etc/security/limits.conf "session required pam_limits.so" in /etc/pam.d/{rsh,sshd} This changed the max

Hi Louis, Thanks for information, find it sometimes is a real challenge. Would you please share your how to link? I wish to read it. For the .local domain I suppose I have nothing to do. This is a running windows Active Directory and it is not possible to change domain suffix. Here is my /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost 10.254.104.8 wdc04.aa.local wdc04 10.254.105.208

RDMA inline threshold?
Stefan, Sounds like a brick process is not running. I have notice some strangeness in my lab when using RDMA, I often have to forcibly restart the brick process, often as in every single time I do a major operation, add a new volume, remove a volume, stop a volume, etc. gluster volume status <vol> Does any of the self heal daemons show N/A? If that's the case, try forcing a restart on

RDMA inline threshold?
Dear Dan, thanks for the quick reply! I actually tried restarting all processes (and even rebooting all servers), but the error persists. I can also confirm that all birck processes are running. My volume is a distrubute-only volume (not dispersed, no sharding). I also tried mounting with use_readdirp=no, because the error seems to be connected to readdirp, but this option does not change

RLIMIT_MEMLOCK in container environment
Hi all, KubeVirt uses libvirtd to manage qemu VMs represented as Kubernetes API resources. In this case, libvirtd is running inside an unprivileged pod, with some host mounts / capabilities added to the pod, needed by libvirtd and other services. One of the capabilities libvirtd requires for successful startup inside a pod is SYS_RESOURCE. This capability is used to adjust RLIMIT_MEMLOCK ulimit
