maybe the only way. How does NT do it?

Is Samba typically slower sending files than receiving?
Is Samba typically slower sending files than receiving?
I have seen this both at home and at work.
Sometimes the throughput is 1/2 when I copy files from Samba
than when I copy to Samba (From WinNT and Win95/98)

I need help with smbmount!!!
I am trying to use smbmount.
I am using Samba 2.0.0
The smbmount command I am using is
smbmount //greg/c /mnt/gregc -I 90.0.0.2
It apparrently works. I get the following messages:
Added interface.......bla bla
Servier time is ........bla bla
Timezone is UTC-6.0
Domain ........
Connected as guest security = user
smb: \>
But I can not do anything. Nothing works. Not ls, dir,

Why is NT smarter than Samba for Printing.
A last week there was a message about using Samba with HP Jetdirect
cards. The Jetdirect cards don't multithread, so when samba does an
lpq- there is a "hang time" for the client. I understand that. But,
why is NT smart enough to put a message in the event log saying that
the printer is busy as where *unix/samba causes the client to page me
