Vectors of objects...
Surely I am confused about something... still. Having read parts of S-programming, MASS, and Programming with Data, I am no closer to understanding how to make a simple vector containing list objects. If I have somehow skipped over a relevant section in these books, please let me know what sections I should have read. This is a simpler case of what I posted on Friday. I am trying to build

Bandwidth requirements for 1, 000, 000 minutes a month
This may expose my ignorance, but here goes :) I've been asked to figure out how much bandwidth would be needed to handle 1,000,000 minutes a month. Here's the environment: ) All calls are received via SIP. ) All calls use the ulaw codec. ) Calls average 10 minutes in duration. ) The "busiest" hour will account for 10% of the daily total. This is how I'm figuring

Sonic Mega Collection crashes on startup.
Ubuntu 8.04 Wine 1.1.10 The sonic mega collection contains almost every genesis sonic game, along with some game gear sonics. The game installed flawlessly, and the no-cd patch worked also. However, upon loading, it shows a faint shadow of the famous SEGA startup screen and then locks up and must be force killed. Changing it to various compat modes did nothing. Normal Output: Code: name at

FLAC C API / Visual Studio 2008 FILE* Issue
I managed to get around it. I used the stream functions and provided my own callbacks for reading and writing. What's strange is that what I've done is just copied the contents of read/write/seek/tell/eof callbacks from the sources to my application and it works just fine, no glitches. When I use the build-in implementation, it just crashes without any reason. It's not a problem to

Ruby fun with MegaMillions
I thought I would write a lottery number generator since I have not had any luck winning the big jackpot - http://megamillions.com/. So far, after over 1.2 million tries, I still have not hit all the numbers from yesterday: 2, 17, 22, 32, 51, 35 (last one is the mega ball). Fun little project that and I thought others would be interested. Let me know if you have a cleaner implementation in mind.

[Bug 58378] [NV86] Distorted graphics on NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G after upgrade the kernel to 3.7.0 version
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58378 --- Comment #22 from Andreas Loew <awl1 at gmx.net> --- Hello Ilia, regarding (a) and (b): I am just waiting for a rpmbuild of an OL6 version of 3.13-rc3 to finish and will report back on my findings and include a dmesg output from that version. Regarding (c): Would'nt it make more sense than starting with 3.6 release and 3.7 release

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.0 oddity
Hi all, In the LLVM backend for the DDC compiler, since version 2.7 I have been doing the following: declare external ccc i32 @some_fn(%struct.Obj* ) align 8 ; bunch more declarations and code. define external ccc i32 @some_fn(%struct.Obj* %_p_vn) { entry: but now I'm getting an error at the function definition saying: error: invalid redefinition of function

Meet the new maintainer
I'll throw this thought out here so it doesn't get lost: when it came time for me to build a Windows release, I always used a quarantined Windows box that had the minimum stuff installed and had never been on a network, to avoid malware getting into the binaries. The last thing I ever wanted to hear was some Windows user blaming FLAC because a bad build infected him.? It was bad enough

FLAC example compilation
Rafael Velasquez wrote: > I have installed libflac via synaptic, the version is 1.2.1-3. If you want to compile some other code against libflac, you also need to install libflac-dev. However, the code you posted a link to does not compile on it's own, it requires other code in the source code tarball. Fwd: flac 1.3.0pre1 prelease

Thanks. I'm wondering if it really should be 1.3.0 and not 1.3.0pre1 which is more accurate at least
