specifying destination dir for a file ...
...t the file is ~/sync/dir/file.txt
and i would like to put it to exatcly this same dir
( /tmp/sync/dir/file.txt ).
Problem starts when 'dir' doesn't exists on the remote side.
Is there a way to force rsync to recreate needed directories ?
kind regards,

OT: Pie charts
We regularly get questions about making pie charts, and frequently
veer off into the philosophical and practical issues surrounding that
form of data graphic: human perception of angles and so on.
So while this isn't an R issue, I thought some of you might appreciate
this brief discussion of the efficacy of pie charts:

rsync monitoring changes ...
...aiting to be woken
up by the other side sending sync request trough
the socket or the local dnotify-like mechanism.
Is anybody working on something like this ?
or maybe there is already some tool similar
to rsync that i could use for this purpose ?
kind regards,

$HOME instead of pw->pw_dir question.
Hello.
I have one, small question.
There are any security reasons to not use a getenv("HOME")
instead of pw->pw_dir in ssh.c and tildexpand.c to find
user home directory?
