...it will be quite easy for you now to start with the new
code. I would like you to complete it by implementing (copy/paste/little
modification) some of the methods.
https://github.com/parthg/xapian
To make it easier, lets have an IRC meeting the day after tomorrow on 7th
sometime around 10:00 UTC. Meanwhile fork my branch for the latest code and
this time I will help you with building issues too. The plan would be to
work on that one/two day simultaneously in which I will stay online in IRC
and we can debug it runtime.
Please notify your convenient time for 7th. I would suggest you to resolve

Excessive Asterisk delay to answer on ZAP inbound call
...og phone rings immediately when calling, while asterisk shows
the message "Starting simple switch on zap..." after the first ring and
executes the old extension script after the second ring (for example a
NoOp instruction).
Why does Asterisk wait for these two rings? What is it doing meanwhile?
Is it possible to shorten this interval to have an immediate response?
TIA

Option for "Delete downloaded files (y/N)?" in install.packages()
Hello!
I have a wish/proposal.
Is it possible to include some option in install.packages() for
Delete downloaded files (y/N)? at the end of that process. It can
be quite anoying if you must install several packages and wait
meanwhile to type y/n for each package separately.

Icecast 2.4x Metadata doesn't clear if net file has none
...d none, Icecast wouldn't stream anything when the second file
streamed. On my 4.21 server, when the second file streams, it shows
metadata left over from the first file. I just finished looking
through the documentation for 2.41 but cannot find any setting which
controls this. Help appreciated. Meanwhile, of course I'll get the
provider of the streamed file without any metadata to remedy that.

Outlook and TLSv.1
Hi Folks,
after adding TLSv1.2 to by TLS options a lot of Outlook users complaint
about connection errors, openssl s_client and Thunderbird works fine.
I found some posts about this but none of them had a real solution on
this - I meanwhile disabled TLSv1.2 which made the Outlook users happy.

roaming profile doubles in size at client logout
...ized but when I login and logout again, the profile
gets copied on the samba server in full versus just the modified data.
For instance, if the profile on the server has 4GB and I logout from the
client, the profile will grow up to 8GB and then drop down to 4GB (in case
no new data get's added meanwhile). This looks to me like instead of doing
an incremental diff, the whole profile get's copied and then compared and
the same data deleted.
Is there some setting that I'm missing in the conf or is this normal?

I unfortunately just got another failure, so this is clearly not darwin
only or even low-noise on none-darwin platforms:

I very much appreciate that people are investigating this issue, but it
would be really nice to meanwhile disable this test case.

Hmm, yes. I was using AppArmor. Disabling it helped. I will point the author of the
AppArmor profiles in this direction.

Only setting this did not help.

PXEbooting very slow
...c32, but pxelinux.0
keeps on requesting for, say, 5 seconds.
Occasionally it is also slow
in checking the other possible config files (those based on mac
address): it spends some seconds on each entry.
If you have any test to
suggest me to solve the problem, I'll try them and post results.
Meanwhile I'll revert back to 3.75

Kaleidoscope example error
Hi,
I am trying to run the toy example provided on
http://llvm.org/docs/tutorial/BuildingAJIT1.html. However, I am running
into a file not found error for llvm/ExecutionEngine/Orc/Core.h. Meanwhile
other llvm headers seem to link properly. Can someone help me out, please?
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,

Automatically forwarding fresh Kerberos tickets?
...henticate on Windows and then use ssh to login to UNIX systems via GSSAPI, it is nigh impossible to renew/refresh the Kerberos credentials in the UNIX session. If the user fails to renew their credentials before they expire, the user is stuck and must log out and log back in to get valid tickets.
Meanwhile it is entirely likely that on the Windows desktop where they ssh'd from, fresh credentials have been served up constantly (when unlocking the screen, for example).
Might it be possible to modify OpenSSH to configure the client to automatically forward fresh Kerberos credentials to the target...

I'd like to throw in a suggestion for Perl instead. I have 4 different versions of Python installed on my Windows machine at home right now and have to figure out which one actually works and manually specify it for any given build system / program / etc which needs it. Meanwhile, the single Perl install just works for everything.
Just my experience there...
