Wine V 1.1.29 in Ubuntu 9.04. When I try to install mdac28 using 'sh wintricks mdac28' in terminal I get the following error message. "The program dasetup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" How can I correct this and install the needed package. Thanks in advance. Bob.

Advanced Diary (a simple calendar/journaling program)installed fine, but when I go to run it the splash screen for the program shows up then I get an error box that says: Error Creating Object. Hi, I'm trying to install MDAC 2.8 to run some Windows software on Wine. I'm using the latest release (1.3) and winetricks alpha on Linux Mint 10. After pointing it to mdac28, it throws this error message, "sha1sum mismatch, Rename /home/sol/.cache/winetricks/mdac28/MDAC_TYP.EXE and try again." I tried the obvious thing, renaming the file, which doesn't didn't help. Hi everyone. I'm trying to use a windows third part software, and it uses a MSSQL database stored in a Windows 2008 Server. For this, I have Ubuntu 11, Wine 1.2 and WineTricks. Following the instructions on "How to configure Wine", the chapter 3.6 tell me to install MDAC_TYP.EXE, and then run CLICONFG.EXE and ODBCAD32.EXE. I did this.
