mcv package gamm function Error in chol(XVX + S)
Hi all R users ! I'm using gamm function from Simon Wood's mgcv package, to fit a spatial regression Generalized Additive Mixed Model, as covariates I have the geographical longitude and latitude locations of indexed data. I include a random effect for each district (dist) so the code is fit <- gamm(y~s(lon, lat,bs="tp", m=2)+offset(log(exp.)), random=list(dist=~1),

does upgrading rails require you to use generate rails again for existing apps?
If I upgrade from my current version 0.14 to the latest version using "gem update rails" do my existing apps need to have the rails structure re-generated to take advantage of changes to rails? If so is there an easy way to do this without loosing my MCV''s? Thanks, Kris.

Model and Controller relationship
My question is about where certain kinds of logic sit in the Model and Controller objects or more specifically the relationship between Model and Controllers. Does an Model class contain a Controller class, the otherway round, or are they two seperate classes that talk? 1. Should the Models be treated as the primary objects within a program and the matching controller is simply a way of

The only way to tell the model is to pass it at creation time, but this does not seem very pretty, because its not a case of passing the bit of information once and thats it, its set for all models. You have to do it every time. Is there a way I should be looking at this problem within the MCV restraints? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

NewBie question
Hi, I m very new to Ruby. I bought a book "Ruby on Rails" and I think I understand some concepts. My question is : Is there a way to not use "Cookies" or "Sessions Variables" to keep some information about the user. I ask this question because I would like to prevent some cases where the user browser won''t accept cookies. I m from Asp 3.0, and I

Multiple app directories
Hi, I''m wondering if there is possibility to make multiple ''apps'' under one Rails Application. That is multiple app directories but sharing the same server, the same configuration, etc. One might be ''admin'' and the other — ''user''.. Some directories (models) might be shared via symlink. The reason is that I don''t want to have

[LLVMdev] Version Control Upgrade?
I have used Perforce also and fully agree it's wonderful. The only concern I have is with their license for open source projects. The only gotcha is that it must be renewed annually, and they reserve the right to not renew it (though they say they won't unreasonably deny renewals). Not sure how much this really matters, as Perforce strikes me as being one of those "do no

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
