The Avaya engineer is telling me that I need to change my “From” header, and I don’t know how to do that.
I have to figure this out in the next few days, or I’m in deep doo-doo.

You may have it right-I took one phone and set the ring time to 60 seconds. I now get about 4 rings on that one.
I wonder how I can change the timing source.

Asterisk 13 logging to two places
...cluttered up. We use /var/log/asterisk/full pretty extensively for troubleshooting, but I want /var/log/messages for other stuff. Didn't do this under the old version.
Any other files you want to see?

I added a filter to the /etc/rsyslog.conf file
:syslogtag, contains, "asterisk" stop
Syslog is still receiving the messages, but is discarding them.

Hi Rowland.
The command (samba-tool user enable 'user') is used to enable a user
account that has been disabled in AD, but it is not functional to unlock a
user account that has been locked by wrong password.

The big question for you is going to be, does your system need to recognize
inbound DTMF tones, and if so, will setting relaxdtmf=NO cause problems
doing that?

DTMF issue
...ould dial 4 digits and in my logs, I'd see one
or two, maybe three. The autoattendant would tell them they had dialed an
invalid extension.
So we had to go back to relaxdtmf=yes on the dahdi channels in question. So
problem_solved=no.

...nchronized to my mobile phone. It might be off by a second or so, I'd have a hard time knowing for sure. NTPD is running, but not working for some reason. I fixed it (ownership of ntp.conf wrong) so now ntpq -pn returns a server ID.

Ok, to review, I'm trying to get Avaya 9608G to come up in a pure Asterisk environment-- no Avaya SBC or gateway or any other Avaya gear in sight.
I have the phone working to the point where it boots up properly, then displays a Username and Password prompt, and says its extension is 123 and the time is 4:57p, which is wrong.
But please don't tell me the only way to program up each

On A, Z, D, and K, the FreePBX GUI writes the configuration files, but we do have a BUNCH of stuff in extensions_custom.conf for special handling of various things.
