wbinfo - Missing Domain Groups
Has anybody found that the 'wbinfo' command does not list all groups in
a Windows domain?
Here's what's in my playground:
Windows 2000 Server SP4 PDC
RH 9 (2.4.20-6)
OpenSSL 3.8p1
MIT Kerberos 1.3.3
Samba 3.0.4
--begin 'smb.conf' snip-
winbind separator = .
idmap uid = 10000-20000
idmap gid = 10000-20000
winbind enum users = yes
winbind enum groups = yes

Local and domain SIDs -- WAS: Is there any way to change the vm computer name which joined AD
...an issue, unless you have member
workstations/servers directly accessing and managing other member
workstations/servers (e.g., IPC like to C$ or similar).
It is very, very important that anyone managing Windows systems
understand these internals, especially when it comes to domains.
Sadly a lot of MCSEs (especially older ones) don't seem to, among
other NT and AD internals. Microsoft still doesn't offer a good AD
internals course, although they do have a good NT internals course
as well as set of books.

Samba vs. NetAppliance
Hi,
I'm debating purchasing a NetAppliance fileserver that does native CIFS.
Below is a URL
to a NetAppliance authored paper regarding performance. One of the sections
compares
NFS to CIFS and talks about Samba. Can anyone dispute any of this? Is
there any reason
besides price that I should stick with Samba?

Is Mongrel dead?
Is Mongrel dead? When I look at http://mongrel.rubyforge.org/wiki/News
the latest news was from close to a year ago, when last version of
Mongrel was released. A look at the tickets shows a rather sad picture
with only two developers “evanweaver” and “luislavena” contributing to
the bug fixes lately.
Please understand that I am not complaining – I just want to know the
situation so that I can
