[LLVMdev] Unable to generate obj file using llc for bpf
Hi Alexei, I haven't tried to run code yet. The clang frontend can generate machine code for bpf but llc does not do the job. When i use : llc -march bpf -filetype=obj arith.bc It has this error message: Assertion failed: (isa<X>(Val) && "cast<Ty>() argument of incompatible type!"), function cast, file

[LLVMdev] MCSection and Win64 Exception Handling
Hi, As you know if you've been watching llvm-commits, I've been working on Win64 exception handling support in LLVM. Unfortunately, I've hit a bit of a snag. I recently learned that GAS implemented its own set of Win64 EH directives. I've made ours compatible with GAS, but one problem remains. GAS's .seh_handlerdata directive is used to declare data that belongs in the

[LLVMdev] Win32 COFF Support - Patch 3
Hi Michael, Overall patch looks good. I do have a few comments below. My main comment is please try to make the style match that used in the MCMachOStreamer more closely. I intend to refactor more functionality into the base MCObjectStreamer class, and having them use consistent idioms makes this easier; specific instances are included in the comments: -- > diff --git

Great! Something that is worth pointing out is that the MCStreamer API is intended to directly reflect what is happening in .s files. We basically want one MCStreamer callback to correspond to one

Dear there, I wasn't able to generate obj file for bpf using llc: llc -march bpf -filetype=obj foo.bc Anyone knows what is the missing part in their backend? I want to make it work for my project. [LLVMdev] Implementing the ldr pseudo instruction in ARM integrated assembler

[LLVMdev] Implementing the ldr pseudo instruction in ARM integrated assembler
Hi David, Maybe I’m just blind, but where’s the code to handle the .ltorg directive? Is that a separate patch, maybe? Without that, this is not going to be usable in any circumstance using subsections-via-symbols. +typedef std::map<const MCSection *, ConstantPool> ConstantPoolMapTy; This feels odd to me. Can you elaborate a bit more on the data structure choices?? I would have expected

[LLVMdev] Any way get debug output of generated assembly from MCJIT without completely redoing CodeGen?
...f a debug flag is set in the app/dev environment which is hosting LLVM). I attempted to do this by adding another AsmPrinter pass to the PassManager, but this runs into all sorts of problems because there's only once MCContext and one MachneModuleInfo pass maintaining various state information (MCSections, MCSymbols, etc.) and the two AsmPrinter passes interfere with each other. The only way I've been able to get this to work is to create an entirely separate PassManager, and use addPassesToEmitFile() on it, which will redo the entire CodeGen process again unnecessarily. Does anyone have any id...

Modifying objects with MC
Hi, I've been trying to write a tool that reads in an ELF file and modifies one section within that ELF file based on the data contained within another section. Using llvm-objdump as a template of how to read an object file, I've been able to read the latter section that tells me what to edit, but I haven't found a way to edit the former, as everything in the

Hi Jim, Thanks for the review. It seems like you were looking at an old patch. I've attached the latest patches to this email (and a squashed version of all three for easy reading). I believe many of your concerns were addressed. See below for a detailed response. > Maybe I'm just blind, but where's the code to handle the .ltorg directive? It is implemented in patch 0003 in this
