[PATCH] Limit MCG Cap
Intercept guest reads of MSR_IA32_MCG_CAP and limit the number of memory banks reported to one. This prevents us from trying to read status of non-existent banks when migrated to a machine with fewer banks. Summary: read.table on Mac OS X, CARBON vs. DARWIN
Thanks a lot, James!! The problem is fixed. On the version 1.4.0 Mac/darwin (the latest available version for this system) the function read.table (which is called from read.delim etc., too) has the bug you explained. Inserting the row nlines <- nlines+1 after lines <- c(lines, line) removes this bug. M. On Friday, February 22, 2002, at 02:33 PM, james.holtman at convergys.com

Summary re: read.table on Mac OS 10
Thanks to all who responded. Not all of the advice helped me with that particular problem, but, I have learned a lot just from your answers. 1. R for Mac 10 (Carbon version) uses the Mac convention of using ":" for the usual Unix "/" and thanks to Dr. Lumley for that since I'm new to R, Mac10, Macs in general, and Unix. 2. Interestingly, Dr. Ripley suggested to

Linux/AD authentication stops working after ~5 minutes
I'm trying to do something fairly simple: login to a Linux box using a Windows AD-based account. I've followed the various recipes available online for configuring Linux (winbind, PAM, etc.) to this send, and I've got it working ... almost. I'm able to authenticate an AD-based user immediately after bringing up the Linux box, but a short time later (roughly 5 minutes, but it

Sub- or superscript in factorial variable - possible?
Hello R-users, I would like to use subscript in chemical formulas for the different treatments in a boxplot. Fot title, xlab and ylab sub- and superscript is no problem, but for the different treatments of the following example I cannot get subscript. Example: weight <- c(6,5,7,2,7,3,9,4,2,7,8,9,2,3,4,5) treatments <- as.factor(rep(c('Control',

Agile Web Dev w/Rails - Password Change
Happy New Year everyone. Just wondering if anyone has coded the ability to allow a user to change their password following the way the book (second edition) implements administration. Seems like I should be able to cut out the password/password_confirmation portion of ''add_user'' form to create a ''change_pass'' form. The problem is I''m not sure how to go
