[Bridge] Question about VLANs, bridges and switches
...we're doing
good/bad/suicidal? Or does anyone have any suggestions how it could be
done better? This new box I'm giving VLAN functionality and possibly some
routing too, still figuring out exactly how to put everything together and
what is needed.

[Bridge] Bridge firewall
Hi,
I'm relatively new to linux world.I'm just trying to setup a bridge firewall
between a router and LAN.
I've installed Red Hat Linux 9.0 - 2.4.20-8 from installation CDs and
upgraded to 2.4.25 successfully.
I've patched my kernel to support bridge firewall also loaded ebtables
module,so far so good.Now I tried to create a bridge using the code given in
the following link

As I said, everything is working now, but I'd like to know a cause and
possibly a cure if its available.

SMBFS, automounting and NFS
..., their home directory is mounted
and they log in, so all their "." files are parsed correctly.
Does anyone know if this can be done with samba or have any pointers for
things to try? Alternatively, feel free to suggest other things for us to try.

SUMMARY: Samba + KDE + winbind + home directories mounted off the Samba PDC - it can almost be done !! (as of September 30th 2003)
...ghlights problems that will certainly appear.
