Reading table data from PDF files
...be parsed for table data. But I'm hoping there is something more integrated that could be incorporated into R functions and scripts to handle large batches of PDFs in a more automated fashion.
Has anyone used R to extract large amounts of tabular data from PDF documents?

Selecting contiguous, irregularly-shaped sets of values from arrays
...would _not_ like to select any of the values in x[,"z"], because, even though they may be <0.6, they are not contiguous with the pond that x["A","v"] is in.
Is there an easy way to do this for many points of interest in a large matrix?
Thanks,

Some advice
I need a quick bit of advice from the list.
We purchased an asterisk based phone system back about 6 months ago and
we are using Cisco 7940G phones (I know, not everyone's favorites). We
are using the second line on the phones for paging with a auto-answer,
now my question is having the system call 20 of these paging extensions,
should that be enough load to cause instability in the system?

Recognize 800 number
Is there a way to recognize if someone called our PRI using an 800 number? The DID is showing my 4 digit primary line, not anything obvious signifying that an 800 number is called?

Breaking out of multiple loops
Hey all,
I'm currently working through the problems at Project Euler -- this
question came up while working on Problem 9
(http://projecteuler.net/problem=9):
"A Pythagorean triplet is a set of three natural numbers, a < b < c,
for which, a^2 + b^2 = c^2. For example, 3^2 + 4^2 = 9 + 16 = 25 =
5^2. There exists exactly one Pythagorean triplet for which a + b + c
= 1000. Find the

Recommendations for QoS, PoE Switches
Hi all,
For a top quality setup, I will need to install high quality VoIP switches
with QoS and PoE. My potential customer should not have any problem with
call quality. Experienced folks, Please advice me what switches to install
and at what price. I may need it for upto 100 phones. What else should I
consider so that phones work without problem along with the computers on the
same network?
