msg 14 (WM_ERASEBKGND) not supported yet
...for Wine
without a problem. The app appears to run fine but it spits out:
fixme:msg:pack_message msg 14 (WM_ERASEBKGND) not supported yet
I checked all of my code and nowhere do I use WM_ERASEBKGND. Can someone
give me a hint on how to get rid of this annoying message?
Thank you.

Desktop.ini showing up
First of all I am new to Samba. I successfully deployed Samba 3.0.6 as a PDC
w/roaming profiles.
All the workstations have a desktop.ini file that shows up on the desktop
after joining the domain. The contents of the ini differ from workstation to
workstation.
>From my understanding this file is a supposed to be a hidden file, but it is
not.
Any ideas?

SMB server seems to be probing the net for shares
Hi,
I happened to check the activity logs of my firewall and found that the
Samba server (our only linux box) is sending packets out to seemingly random
IP addresses on the 'net. They are all directed to port 53, and are being
blocked at the firewall, but they're firing off at a rate of 1 every 5-10
seconds. What gives? Have I been hacked, or is this normal or configurable
behavior?

Compatibility namespaces containing a leading ~ appear to be broken in 1.1.x

expose the offending commit that introduced this problem, so this bug
(assuming it is a bug) was probably inadvertently introduced during the

Can anyone suggest where in the source tree I should start looking to
correct this behaviour?

Predict function for 'newdata' of different dimension in svm
...quot;names<-.default"(`*tmp*`, value = c("1", "2", "3", "4", "5", :
'names' attribute [175] must be the same length as the vector [50]
What am I missing? Why would the row names have to be the same?
Thanks so much,

groups with spaces in their name
I''m trying to set puppet up to manage users and groups on an OpenBSD
Samba server, but puppet doesn''t want to handle group names with spaces.
I know this horribly ugly, but compatibility with windows clients seems
to demand groups like "Domain Users" and "Domain Computers", and puppet
chokes on them even though the underlying OS handles them at least well

newbie session confusions
I''m totally baffled by the relation between objects and the session
and when an object is still available. It seems to me that there
should be a simple session.rb file (like the session.java file in
WebObjects).
Right now, I''m just trying to figure out how to keep an object
around, say a User object, without saving it to the db, so that I can
tell at any point whether the

Thanks for any advice!

Bell Canada (Nortel DMS100) PRI Outbound CNAM issue
Hi Folks,
I'm trying to send CallerID Name information out to the PSTN via a PRI
with Bell Canada with no success. With inbound calls (originating from
the PSTN) CNAM is received successfully, and we've not had any similar
problems with other Telco PRIs, so I'm stumped.

HP/Compaq T700H UPS cable pinout
Hello all,
I have obtained a Compaq T700 H UPS sans-cable. My research indicates it
would've come with a HP #201092-001 cable, and from previous posts on
this list, it speaks upscode2, possibly being a rebadged Eaton unit.
Any suggestions for cable pinouts I can try?

For now, I just want to control access through the normal passwd/shadow
mechanism.
I set in dovecot.conf:
disable_plaintext_auth = no
ssl = yes
passdb shadow {
}
userdb passwd {
}
I don't know what else to try. Help would really be appreciated.

I know this is off-topic, but I am interested in opinions
on the subject of SCO using Samba in it's products while they declare
the GPL is unconstitutional and invalid. In Darl McBride's recent speech at
Harvard Law School, he was asked in the Q&A period about SCO's use of
Samba and the GPL - to which he replied something to the effect (I am
paraphrasing here) of "Samba doesn't infringe on our IP to our knowledge, so we
still contribute (??) to the Samba pro...

Workgroups
I am very new to samba and have installed samba 2.2.8 on a sco unix open
server 5.07 system with wins.
My current windows network has about 50 users split into department
workgroups.
How can I get them all to see the samba server? When I look at the network
neighbourhood it only shows up in one workgroup.
I have put two workgroups in the global area but it only shows the second
