Dovecot Wiki: Orphaned page on mbox locking
The following shows up in the "orphaned page" list of
the Wiki:
http://wiki.dovecot.org/MboxLocking?action=show&redirect=MboxSoftwareLocks
Does the description of Dovecot mbox locking still apply to
current versions? If yes, it should be linked from the
"Troubleshooting" page.

mbox locking
...cot's mbox_write_locks.?
Methods known by dovecot are dotlock, flock, fcntl and lockf. I
couldn't find out, which methods are used by OpenSMTPD.
Dovecot's mbox_read_locks should match too, but dotlock isn't used.

invalid mbox
dovecot-1.0-1.1.rc15.fc6
When I attempt to drag spam from one IMAP box to another it tells me
that I have an invalid mbox format for some emails. Occasionally too
when I click on that email box it gives me the same error. uw-imapd
never gave me those problems.
I use Thunderbird 1.5.0.10 and have the same problem on Windoze XP and
MacOSX.
Can I and how do I solve this problem?

mixing dovecot and non-dovecot access to mail
Hello,
I have recently installed Mailscanner/postfix for the mail server and
dovecot for (mainly remote) access to email (via T'bird etc. and/or
Webmail). Most users still use text mail clients (mutt, pine, some still
old elm) while in the office. These clients access mail (both incoming
at /var/mail/ and users' private folders in ~/Mail) directly.
I wonder whether this mixing of dovecot

troubles with broken clients (iPhone) - again
The PC (Outlook) is accessing the mailbox via POP3, the iPhone is using
IMAP; please consider we are talking about a user's home setup, so it's
pretty difficult to have a more detailed report on his part (Outlook
version, iPhone OS version, xDSL router type and configuration, etc.). The
mail server 'dovecot -n' output is attached.
The symptoms: when the Mail application is
