Bug: xend-relocation-hosts-allow in xend-config.sxp
Comparing my last know working configuration with the current one, it
appears to be gagging on the new localhost\.localdomain that is in the
configuration file. I don''t know if this got added by my machine when
compiling.

intel se7501wv2 interrupt problem?
I'm having some really odd issues with the networking on this old Intel
se7501wv2
The network card onboard is an Intel Corporation 82546EB
I'm getting quite a lot of "[Errno 4] Socket Error: timed out" when I
attempt to download updates on this machine.
Other machines on my network do not appear to be plagued with the same
disconnect problems.
Not sure what kernel flags I

Upgrading FC2 -> Centos4RC1 (possible, but messy)
This was my experience with upgrading, your mileage may vary especially
if it's in kilometers. This is what I had to do to get my system
running again.
##############
In order to attempt this upgrade, I had to use "linux upgradeany", a
mode not listed for the installer CDs.
My first problem was I could no longer boot the system after the
upgrade. My grub menu showed my old

use of MAILTO variable in crontab
I want to do something like this:
30 2 * * * MAILTO=testaddr at harte-lyne.ca; echo "this should be mailed"
I have searched extensively and from what I have read I believe that
this should work. But evidently I misapprehend how cron and MAILTO
is supposed to work as my example does not cause any mail to be sent
as far as I can determine from maillog.
How does one specify unique

PostgeSQL 8.0.4 on CentOS4.2
In case anyone besides me is interested, installing these packages
on CentOS4.2 seems to work. You can determine the correct mirror
to use from:
http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/binary/v8.0.4/linux/rpms/redhat/rhel-
es-4/
The rpm command that I used was:
rpm --upgrade --nodeps --hash -v <package url>

Badness in interruptible_sleep_on_timeout
Seeing this strange error message when I start up the networking on my
new firewall.
I'm using three surplus 8139s as my network cards, and when the network
links come up I get these error messages:
It only seems to happen when the network comes up, and it works after
that without error messages.

Oracle Driver for Linux?
I have a Zope + DCOracle2 setup, and I was thinking of moving to Zope +
eGenix ODBC (which will use unixODBC) however that still leaves me
lacking a driver to connect this to the Oracle server.
There are a number of variously priced commercial drivers out there like
EasySoft, Merant, OpenLink, etc.
Someone built upon a previous open source EasySoft driver:

Limit the total bytes transfered?
Has anyone got a method for limiting the total number of bytes
transfered with rsync?
I was thinking running with -n and then using the output to check how
much will been transfered.
I ask because a client had a broken filesystem that occasionally has 2T+
files on it (broken filesystem, so they weren't actually that big) but
we happily ran up a huge b/w bill with rsync.
