Mayday ! Needing urgent help about writing results to a file
Hey listmembers,
I am desperately trying to write a data frame to a file. Not in CSV, but as they "appear" on the screen (nice, easy to read tables). I've read that the sink function is the way to go.
I have tried the following code inside a function.
sink("ABC.txt")
MyFrameA
MyFrameB
sink()
It gives the result I need when I use it outside a function, but when I use it

hvmloader not fbuilt as part of Xen
...ng downloaded a week ago.
I have enabled VT in the bios and rebuilt xen, but for some reason hvmloader does not get compiled and built.
Under xen/tools/firmware I see hvmloader and when I try and do a make it complains of
Install dev86 package to build firmware!
Why is the hvmloader not built as part of Xen. I am using x86_64bit.
Can someone help me to fix this problem. Appreciate any help in advance.
Thanks
Prabha

cannot compile hvmloader (dev86 missing)
I installed XEN from source, since the binary did not install. The Xen
source includes also tools/firmware/hvmloader
To compile firmware it only shows a message: WARNING: Install dev86
package to build firmware! At the referred page
http://www.cix.co.uk/~mayday I could not find anything about dev86.
What do I need to do?
I want to install as DomU2 Windows XP and need hvmloader.
bye
Ronald

[ActiveRecord::Base].collect {|a,b| ...} weirdness
...thers could post their output for the following so
that I can figure out whether this is weirdness specific to my setup
or a global phenomenon.
So far, ActiveRecord::Base and its descendants are the only classes
with which I see this behaviour and furthermore it seems to be limited
to Ruby 1.9.1.
Mayday!
Thanks,

They've been in the queue, but some more important fixes got this pushed
behind.

I think this has already been asked on the list, but I can''t seem to
be able to find it again:
currently, active record does some weird thing with its sql logs i.e.:
[4;33mSQL (0.000000) [1;37mPRAGMA table_info(map_locations)
how do I remove the "[4;35m"

massive load caused by smartvd
Hey all,
I noticed that my puppet server running CentOS 6.5 was acting a little
pokey.
So I logged in and did what well just about anyone would've done. And ran
the uptime command to have a look at the load. And it was astonishingly
high!
[root at puppet:~] #uptime
21:28:01 up 1:26, 3 users, load average: 107.37, 72.06, 75.52
So then I had a look at top and saw a LOT of processes

civil emergency comms: Asterisk + HAM
The disaster in the Gulf coast and the less than optimal initial
response suggests to me that citizens must shoulder more responsibility
for emergency management. Communications loss must have played a large
role in the failures that occurred. I can't help but wonder if there
are fewer ham radio operators today and that if there were more, maybe
they could make a difference in future
