Asterisk Perl AGI
Hello everybody: This could be a stupid question, or may be not; I'm not sure 'cause I have not a very wide experience working with Asterisk, actually I just started last week. I need to make an IVR system work and I choose working with AGIs, written in Perl. The available documentation I've found show it as a very simple proccess, but it doesn't work for me... and I

how to collect user entered digits
...o all, I have been searching thru all docs that I can find on wiki and such but can not get an answer. I am trying to collect a date from user input in the form of digits dialed from the phone to use in an agi script to do a database look up. I have tried to use "Get Data filename, timeout, maxdigits " in the agi script. In * console I get message saying playing filename but it exits as soon as it starts. Could I collect the digits some how before going to script and then send as an arg maybe? in extensions.conf: exten => 657, 1, Ringing exten => 657, 2, wait(5); exten => 657, 3...

Max sig figs as well as Min in print?
...1.7725 0.0000 if need be. The above of course is due to the definition of "digits" as the miniumum number of significant figures to print. In order to avoid the behaviour of the second "print" and make it like the last line, one would need to be able to set somthing like "maxdigits=5" as well as "digits=5". Is anything of this sort possible (apart from anticipating the situation and wrapping relevant computations in "round")? Thanks, and best wishes, Ted.

Feedback request: AGI GET DATA change - termination digits
...o prior digit entry cancels the step and returns to the previous menu. I guess there's a compatibility issue with stuff that's out there already but if it was an optional 4th parameter this would be backwards compatible. Proposed new syntax: GET DATA <filename> <timeout> <maxdigits> <terminator> If terminator is specified (and it may be multicharacter, like "*#" to give me the functionality above), return the digit string collected so far, including the terminating digit. The calling app can strip the trailing character if needed. Thoughts? Cheers Paul

MeetME Conferencing
Can anyone point me to a sample or information on using MeetMe like this? Conference room is set up with 2 PINs, one for the moderator and one for the participants. Participants get music until the moderator joins (to avoid wild, un-moderated tangents). Call is ended and all participants are kicked out when the moderator leaves (or the moderator can kick everyone out via phone keypad).

Hierarchical factors
Hello, Hierarchical factors are a very common data structure. For instance, one might have municipalities within states within countries within continents. Other examples include occupational codes, biological species, software types (R within statistical software within analytical software), etc. Such data structures commonly use hierarchical coding systems. For example, the 2007 North

Fwd: Asterisk With Cisco Voice Router
Hi, In our office, we're slowly migrating from a cisco call manager set up to asterisk. Problem is management doesn't want to buy any other hardware ?as they had already invested a lot in cisco. The main cause of this is asterisk's added features like unique FAX number for everyone in the company (which will be the same as phone DID), Voice mail, Auto Answer etc yet we need thousands
