kernel with multi-LUN SCSI support
I am running CentOS 3.1 and everything is working beautifully except my HP12000e tape library that requires multi-LUN support. Every time I re-compile the 2.4.21 kernel with the multi-LUN SCSI option, I get the multi-LUN to work but something else breaks. Is there a pre-compiled kernel somewhere that is similar to the stock CentOS kernel except that it includes the multi-LUN feature? thanks!

Multiple LUN support
...he 2.4 kernel but it doesn't seem to work in the 2.6. Any help would be appreciated. Config: Standard intel server board. p4 processor (3) 3-ware controllers Lsi Logic u320 scsi card External SCSI tape library. Worked before on a Whitebox linux 2.4 kernel, just added: options scsi_mod "max_scsi_luns=16" to /etc/modules.conf and rebuilt the initrd image, then reboot. All worked fine. But Whitebox is crap and was giving me probs and also want everything standardized on CentOS! Thanks!

HP SureStore 40x6e - Multiple LUN's problem on CentOS 4.4
...st: scsi5 Channel: 00 Id: 05 Lun: 00 Vendor: HP Model: C5713A Rev: H910 Type: Sequential-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 I read somewhere that this shouldn't be a problem with RHEL 4, but I can't seem to get it detected. I tried to add options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=6 to modprobe.conf and regenerated initrd - no change. Tried adding max_luns=6 max_report_luns=6 to the kernel line in grub.conf, no change. I tried to manually add it by doing: echo "scsi add-single-device 0 0 5 1" > /proc/scsi/scsi but again, no change. Any suggestions? Am...

Multi-Card reader (SD, MMC, etc) and CONFIG_SCSI_MULTI_LUN kernel option in 34.0.2. Workaround
...y the other hand i've also tweak the /etc/grub.conf file to boot the kernel with max_luns=32 and results are the same, only scsc lun=0 is recognized. At the same time using the workaround mentioned in the link pasted b4 regarding to modify the /etc/modules.conf to include 'options scsi_mod max_scsi_luns=8' gives the same results, no detection at all for the card slots. HP Surestore 12000e and multi-LUN
I am running CentOS 4.4 and trying to bring up my tape library. When I do cat /proc/scsi/scsi, it shows only the drive and not the changer although both are shown when the Adaptec card initializes. I recall in the distant past that I had to do "something" to get the kernel to properly scan the SCSI bus for the additional LUN but I cannot for the life of me recall what that was. It

High Number of VMs
Hi, I''m curious about how you guys deal with big virtualization installations. To this date we only dealt with a small number of VM''s (~10)on not too big hardware (2xquad xeons+16GB ram). As I''m the "storage guy" I find it quite convenient to present to the dom0s one LUN per VM that makes live migration possible but without the cluster file system or cLVM
