Bug#880554: Bug#880554: #880554: max grant frames problem
...nux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=29d11cfd8698038b87458ba4d1329b9da81150a5 ..which is in since linux 4.13-rc2, and buster has 4.19+ Is there anyone who would wants to try reproduce the max grant frames problem on buster with Xen 4.11 and Linux 4.19 dom0/domU? The 'xen/grant-table: max_grant_frames reached' should show up on the serial console. I'd like to see a test report of it actually happening. No further adjustments/fixes will go into the Stretch Xen packages at this stage. Having better documentation about how to set hypervisor and guest options to deal with all of this is st...

Re: xen and libvirt
Hi I need the e820_host option for a passthrough of an digitaldevices dvb-s2 card. Without this I'cant initialize the card in the domU. On an all my domU's with high IO load like an file server I need to set max_grant_frames = 64 or higher. Without this I get a lot of messages on dom0/domU and kernel exceptions. I've read it should be ok to set it = 256 on all domU's (somewhere on SuSE pages), so if there is a possibility to set it global on hyperviser, this could be a solution for me. With xl.conf it is pos...

xen and libvirt
Hi Does someone know how it is possible these parameters: e820_host max_grant_frames to set with libvirt xml config? I use them with xl config but I want to change to libvirt config/tools. (with libvirt 4.10 it is possible to start pvh domains) -- ------ Greetz

Control: retitle -1 max grant frames problem (domu freeze with linux-image-4.9.0-4-amd64) Control: severity -1 important Control: reassign -1 src:xen 4.8.3+xsa267+shim4.10.1+xsa267-1+deb9u9 Just gardening here. (i) Bug title should mention grant frames. (ii) This does not affect all use cases and is not, IMO, RC. Although we should certainly see if we can improve it. (iii) Britney is confused

Currently, those settings are not supported by libvirt. Do you need to adjust them for PCI passthrough to PV domains? I took a quick peek at xl.cfg(5) and based on the description of those settings didn't see a counterpart in the libvirt domain sch...

Re: PCI/GPU Passthrough with xen
I know these are mostly gamers but they have a lot of experience doing PCI pass though: https://discord.gg/du9ecG I have found them extremely helpful in the past doing libvirt PCI passthough. *Paul O'Rorke* On 2020-02-05 10:13 a.m., Jim Fehlig wrote: > On 2/4/20 1:04 AM, Christoph wrote: >> this config does not work... why? > > Without more details, I don't know why
