variables in templates
Here''s the problem I''m trying to solve. I use apache, for lots of things, some of those things are configured from a performance standpoint differently. In less vague terms I need to be able to change the MaxClients setting to different things based on the different purposes apache serves. (say proxy vs. app) Under previous CMS/templating engines I would have a httpd.conf that

Performance question
...9;m looking for sizing information for the 1.3.11 Icecast server. I have the following system: FreeBSD 4.3 Pentium II 400 MHz 128 MB memory 100 Mb Ethernet connection (FD) I am looking for an estimate to the number of clients I can have running against this server. It looks to be configured for MAX_CLIENTS = 800, but I'm looking for some sizing and performance estimates based on my configuration and real world experience. The clients will be connecting from the same LAN as the server, so there are no other network considerations to be brought into play. <p>Thanks, Steve Smaldone -------...

CPU usage by libvirtd
...ats such as cpu, memory, disk every 10 sec. All my requests are made in one thread. And I found that the libvirtd may cost 30% or above cpu time. Is it normal in my case? I tried to reduce this cpu consumption and found some variable in libvirtd.conf and got a little confused by variables like max_clients, max_workers, max_requests. In my opinion, max_clients limits the number of virConnect created by app. max_workers limits the number of thread to handle requests from clients. Does that mean requests from one client may be handled in multi-thread way if max_workers is greater than max_worke...

...a few times, but haven't seen any responses, so please forgive me if this has been answered. How many max users can be served by IceCast? We can't seem to serve more than 40 users at a time and I have no idea what to do at this point. Any suggestions? First SSH now VSFTP
Seems the script kiddies are now hitting vsftp with dictionary attacks. I had three boxes showing around 12000 attempts from one IP yesterday. My thoughts are that there should be an upstream solution for this which is then supported by the upstream vendor. Yes, I know there are several 'other' solutions, but I'd really like to stay mainstream and use a supported method for

libvir: Remote error : cannot recv data: : Connection reset by peer
I'm using Libvirt's Java API and connecting to the hypervisor using the same. My program is such that periodic discovery of active VMs is done using Libvirt's functions. However, when I try to perform any VM related operations while the Java code connecting to Qemu is running such as shutdown, start VM using virsh, I end up with : 'libvir: Remote error : cannot recv data: :

Accessing libvirtd from multiple agents
Hi, I was wondering if multiple remote agents can access the same libvirtd. How do we prevent conflicting commands from the different agents. Can different access permission be set for the agents? (The documentation usually goes over the case where one agent can access multiple libvirtd and not this case) Thanks Arvind -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Missing headers in Icecast2
Hi Karl, Thanks for your help, About the "Connection:" header, you are right, it's: "Connection: close" and NOT "Connection: keep-alive". The protocol when the SERVER sends the data is http 1.0. It's http 1.1 when the browser requests the data. I don't understand the "Content-Length: 54000000" header either. Also I noticed the flash player on
