...I'm mounting a Windows98(se) share (yes, with full permissions, no password) onto my Linux box. Mounts just fine, all users can read from it perfectly. However, NO users except for root can write to the share! How can I fix this? Here's my mount line for the share from /etc/fstab: //mav/mav_z /mnt/mav_z smbfs user 0 0 I've tried mounting it with "mount /mnt/mav_z" which works, and I've also tried using "mount -t smbfs -o guest,rw,fmask=0777 //mav/mav_z /mnt/mav_z" which also works. Same result though, can't write to the share! Someone on IRC sugges...
