CentOS 4.4 lvm and drbd 0.8?
I'm running CentOS 4.4 and drbd 0.7 with ext3 filesystems on the drbd device. I'm very interested in moving to drbd 0.8 and pulling my all of my drbd devices into one lvm for greater flexibility in filesystems. I've seen some notes on doing this but wonder if anyone on this list has a cookbook for doing this. Also noted that on the drbd site the only packages they have are set

CentOS 4.4-IBM Netvista Performace Problems, help needed.
I've got an odd situation that I need some advise on. I have two computers that I am planning to use as a cluster. I initially started with some left over Compaq Presairos with 667MHz CPUs. I loaded CentOS 4.3 and later updated to 4.4. Things ran normally, albeit slowly. I had an opportunity to upgrade to a pair of IBM Netvistas with 2.26 GHz CPUs, I did this by transferring the

Case problems w/[homes]
...for all of the services, I have "preserve case = yes". This works fine for all of the services I have defined, but not for the [homes] service. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them. I have read the section in the smb.conf man page about case mangling thanks, ~bm -- Bryan Mattern bm@isye.gatech.edu ---------

Sound problems on envidia 6510 in Compaq SR5110NX
I've go a Compaq Presario (SR5110NX) that I've loaded CentOS 5 on and all is well except for the sound card. I understand that OSS supports the chipset but it's not being detected an loaded properly and I've invested a significant amount of time already. I've probably got an old supported card lying around here somewhere but I hat to give up on the principal. I would rather

It's available from the usual ftp sites, in the alpha directory as : <ftp mirror>:/pub/samba/alpha/samba-2.2.0-alpha3.tar.gz If people could test this snapshot out and provide feedback about what is broken and let the lists know that would help. The problem acting as a PDC for

SATA disk issue
I''m in the process of upgrading the hardware in a small cluster based on CentOS 5 and Xen. The old hardware had dual ide disks, the new dual SATA. In both cases /boot and / are on RAID 1 partitions on each of the disks. The remainder of the disk is a RAID 0 with volume group laid on top. Here''s my problem, when booting to Xen the box gets to the point of mounting filesystems

Re: [CentOS] SATA disk issue
Following up to myself here, I tracked the problem in my original posting down to a memory issue with the system board, found that I had to manually specify the amount of memory using the mem= parameter at boot time. Since then Asus has released an updated bios that has everything working fine without the parameter. Now there is a new issue that again appears to be related to the disks. When
