I'm running on a machine with a Matrox MGA G200EH but it doesn't appear that the 3D acceleration is being used (for example Google Earth lists the driver as being Mesa). There doesn't seem to be any way that I've found yet to make it higher res, so I can read it. It's *not* the monitor's fault. It is an ancient Matrox video card... but I would have thought the VESA driver could handle it. Any suggestions? mark

So I have then adjusted the mga driver from centos 6 - the specification file - , to be build on CentOS 7. Since then this runs on the headnode without failures. I then purchased another card the MX4000 the specs said it would do more than 1920x1080 but the FINE print said in DVI mode it only does 1600x1200. All the cards I find say 1920x1080i.
