Easiest way to compile custom kernel, for fedora +openswan+xen+patchomatic
I want to compile a custom xenU kernel for a firewall distribution
(endianfw, version of ipcop), I can get it to load up but the kernel is
missing some modules that aren''t resident. So I want to make a custom
version for this domU, I know what I need kernel+openswan+xen+patch-o-matic
but I not sure the best way to go about this, do I patch a fedora source or
start with a vanilla kernel? I know what I want but am unsure what is the
best way? I have read that this has been done under cool configurations but
they didn''t go into much detail. Any guidance would be apprec...

faq-o-matic gone
The rsync faq-o-matic was broken during the recent machine migration.
Since there was relatively little useful content and a lot of
unanswered or pointless questions, I am going to remove the links to
it.
If anyone feels like maintaining an FAQ please do so.

iptables patch-o-matic
Hi,
I am trying to install some additional iptables modules on a CentOS 5 Box
(imq, tarpit, geoip). Can anyone recommend a version of patch-o-matic-ng that
works well with the CentOS 5 kernel sources (2.6.18-8.1.4)? The most current
version (patch-o-matic-ng-20070521.tar.bz2) does not compile. With
patch-o-matic-ng-20061128.tar.bz2 I could at least get tarpit working but
geoip and imq seem to be missing.
Did anyone build these on CentOS 5...

UNDI - Rom-O-Matic -- A bit off topic..
...works just fine.
The customer has this same problem with several PE 1650, while other systems like PE1750 and 1850 has no problems.
Now to my questions:
- How does the UNDI work?
- I belive: the PXE boot code in the BIOS configures the NIC to be in "UNDI mode"?
- Does a Rom-O-Matic created Boot Floppy also set the NIC in "UNDI mode" as well? (If not, any other option?)
The customer belive the BootCode in the Dell BIOS is causing this problem.
I am thinking:
- If he boot with a Rom-O-Matic created disk instead of using the BIOS boot code, we can verifi if this...

netfilter patch-o-matic: where did all the patches go?
Hi all,
I haven''t been paying attention to this for a while, but now that I
download the latest patch-o-matic-ng, I see that most of the patches are
gone...
Anybody have an idea where I can download the ''extras'' repository?
Specifically geoip.
Thanks!

[Bug 46] ..patch-o-matic: nfnetlink_conntrack.c or -.h ... compile failure:
...---------------------------
Status|NEW |ASSIGNED
------- Additional Comments From laforge@netfilter.org 2003-02-08 13:06 -------
what compiler are you using? gcc-2.95.3 works quite fine to compile
nfnetlink/ctnetlink stuff.
nfnetlink/ctnetlink from patch-o-matic is considered _very_ experimental, so
warnings are quite normal. I don't clean up warnings during the development...
it's just before 'release' that I care about stuff like this.

I tried tcrules, providers, masq configuration but
