I have a question. I have installed the latest samba release from the source. My problem is that i can't seem to be able to set the hidden flag on the directories from windows. How does samba handle NT usernames that contains spaces. Also NT can have long usernames while Linux can only have 8-10 character long usernames. Is there anyway you can map those long usernames to Linux? Thanks MattB

I did do a install from the cvs and i restarted my smbd and nmbd. when typing ./smbstatus it gives me sessionid.tdb not initialized. What causes this and what do i have to do to fix it? thanks in advance Matt

How would i go about mapping the NT group "everyone" to samba or linux. I would like to be able to just give a nt specified group permissions to a share. My samba server is member of a domain and i figured out how to authenticate with the NT server using domain security. Any answers would be appreciated. thanks MattB

WARNING: you need to rerun autoconf This is a thing that shows up every time i try to 'make' samba from cvs. ./configure passes successfully, and so does 'make' but this message still shows up in the first line. Anyone know whats up with that? autoconf --version shows Autoconf version 2.13 MattB

when i try to make a Admin install of programs with the /A switch, i get the error 2327 Could not remove directory: [3] GetLastError: [2] My samba log reports [2001/12/17 09:10:51, 0] smbd/open.c:open_directory(1111) open_directory: unable to stat name = Programs/RouteFinder Utilities. Error was No such file or directory When creating a directory i have 777 and file permission is 666.
