does backgroundrb server need rails environment?
Hi everyone,
I noticed that script/backgroudrb requires config/environment which
causes the backgroundrb server as well as the log worker to ''bloat'' to
35MB each. I am kind of sensitive to memory issues, so I patched the
code and essentially moved the require of environment from

Saving server
Hi all,
If I modified the server script with
i=0
begin
BackgrounDRb::MasterProxy.new()
rescue => e
#some code to email notice of error
i +=1
retry if i < 5
end
would that work / be wise? (vs checking up on the process externally via
cron, and restarting it if it crashes)
thanks,
zacha

Start script not working when run via Rake
Hi there
I''m using the latest release (r300) and ''script/backgroundrb start'' works
perfectly when executed on the server, but when put inside a Rake task, it
doesn''t launch the worker processes.
The Rake task is as follows:
task :start_backgroundrb do
run "cd #{current_path} && ./script/backgroundrb start"
end
When I run this task, the
