Login Scripts Win95/WinNT
...mba. Our Samba server is a Sun sparc station running under Solaris 2.6, our clients are both Win 95 and Win NT 4.0 workstations. We set up our Samba server with user level security and configured everything according to the Samba documentation. The Samba server is acting as WINS server and domain masterbrowser, there is no Win NT server in our network. We use "Domain Logons = Yes" in the smb.conf file. Our main question: To run the login scripts on the Win95 and WinNT clients, do they have to be configured to log on to a Win NT domain or is it sufficient to log on to a Workgroup? If log on to...

...aplication crashes. I'm not sure, but do these problems belong together? First I thought that there is somthing wrong with my netbios and TCP/IP settings. But I'm not able to find wrong settings. The Clients and Samba is using the same subnet. Samba is configured with wins support and as masterbrowser. Clients are using sambaserver as winsserver. Pings on the netbiosname of the sambaserver works. Befor samba3 i used samba2.2.8 and there it worked. I use suse linux 8.0. Can someone please help me?? Thanks a lott!! Stefan

Domain Authentication Problem
I have been running Samba 2.2.8 on a Solaris 8 server with a valid NetBIOS server name on the AD domain. The Samba 2.2.8 configuration was configured for security = domain. Everything was fine until the AD domain controllers were "upgraded" to Windows Server 2003 SP1. User authentication would no longer function with the following error message in the samba 2.2.8 log:

Hi @ all, I have two samba-servers running perfectly! Now I configured a third machine which provides some backups. Since I brought it up in the network the windows client won't execute the netlogon-scripts... When I turn off samba-services on the backup-machine it works again. Did I miss something??? Browsing
I am configuring Linux (2.0.33) as a local router. I am wanting to use Samba (1.9.18p3) to "manage" the browse lists on my network so that computers on each subnet can browse resources on the other subnets. My local network consists of Win95 and NT40 workstations with NT40 servers. My test configuration consists one token ring segment on one side of the Samba box (network .192) and

Samba kills network.
When i try to swap files between disks on my server using samba i get errors: then windows reports "The specified network name is no longer available". Sometimes the copies are fine other times files just wont copy. Hardware checks out fine. Ive even replaced the network cable between server and switch thinking that might be causing the problem. Ive included a ethereal cap of the
