Error using getBM() to query BioMart archives
I'm trying to identify the positions of all genes within a specific
chromosomal region using biomart. When using the current biomart
database I'm able to do this without issue. However, I need to use
build 36 of the mouse genome which was last included in ensembl mart
46. I selected this mart and the mouse dataset as follows:

Conflict command getSequence {biomaRt} and getSequence {seqinr} !!
Hi !
Facing problem with " getSequence" commend .
when only biomaRt package loaded the following example working well
>mart <- useMart("ensembl",dataset="hsapiens_gene_ensembl")
>seq = getSequence(id="BRCA1", type="hgnc_symbol", seqType="peptide", mart = mart)
show(seq)
but when i have loaded the seqinr, i got problem

[BioC] problem with biomaRt getHomolog function

When the new biomaRt tries to load it errors out because I do not have
RMySQL installed. There is not a Windows binary for RMySQL and it does
contain C code that I do not know how to build.
I do not use the MySQL option in biomaRt. Does RMySQL need to be a
required dependency? Below is my screen output and sessionINfo.

AD Domain member - getent passwd truncated to only 18 users
...h matches 'wbinfo -u | wc -l'.
Asking 'id someuser' not listed on getent fails, 'id'ing one of those 18
users works fine.
I have no idea what to check next, appreciate any help or hint. I added
winbind enum options and password server to smb.conf just for debug.

R and tmp directroy
Hi all,
When I start R, it gives
mkdir: Ne peut cr?er le r?pertoire `/home/mart/tmp/Rtmp11729'.: No such file or directory
(I specify that my home path is /home/mart and the R version is 1.7.1)
How I have to configure R to use the directory /tmp instead of
/home/mart/tmp ?
What is utility of this directory tmp for R?

Problem with biomaRt::getSequence.
Hi,
I can run the code some days ago . But cant run now.
Problem 1: Output is ok
ensembl = useDataset("hsapiens_gene_ensembl",mart=ensembl)
utr5 = getSequence(chromosome=3, start=185514033, end=185535839, type="entrezgene",seqType="5utr", mart=ensembl)

If using something like rsyslog, it is trivial to filter out unwanted entries.

I've been unsuccessful in tracking down a package that does MART. J
Friedman's website has a page that mentions an R implementation but the
links lead nowhere. There is also a nice walkthru/vignette pdf on his site.

Samba and MC/Service Guard

I work in Wal-Mart's IT department, specifically with Unix Servers of
various flavors, but HP-UX is predominant in our Home Office environment.
I recently built an two node HA cluster on HP 11.11 boxes. I want to be
able to have Samba use the virtual name of my cluster. Currently Samba is

dovecot: imap Error: read : Broken pipe
I forgot to mention that if I transfer the mail to my Gmail or Outlook
address I can download the attachments without any problem. More over
I've completely removed the firewall server from the equation, I plugged
the adsl line directly into the mail server and the problem is still
there, so my guess is that the firewall isn't the problem here.

Actually this specific event leak isn't a known issue. I don't really understand how it could happen. These event leaks are supposed to be checked

is totally off topic. :(

FYI, I'm still managing 4 production RedHat 6.2 (Zoot relased year 2000)
based MTA servers and they
are using latest self compiled and updated kernel, latest dovecot,
postfix, openssl, openssh, bind etc,
so they are in top shape and working well.
So official EOL is just for dummies. :)
