building r-devel on RedHat 7.1 with gcc 3.1.1
...... configure:
WARNING: g77 and gcc disagree on int and double
configure: error: Maybe change CFLAGS or FFLAGS?
Should I have set some configuration option? Or is this more likely a
problem with my gcc installation/build?
I'm trying to build r-devel (8/30/02) source.

Then, in the main testpkg/ directory I have an empty `install.R' file
and a dummy DESCRIPTION file (as well as an empty man/ subdirectory).
When I run `R CMD INSTALL testpkg' I get the following output:

Problem with R CMD INSTALL and package versions (PR#2878)
...Version: 1.7.0
OS: Linux (Red Hat 8.0)
Submission from: (NULL) (68.64.112.179)
There seems to be a problem with R CMD INSTALL using --with-package-versions.
First, when using --save and --with-package-versions together, I get the
following output (in this case, for the `snow' package):
--
marla:> R CMD INSTALL --save --with-package-versions snow_0.1-1.tar.gz
* Installing *source* package 'snow' as 'snow_0.1-1' ...

Core dump with "parse" (PR#2120)
Hi everyone,
The following code may not be very sensible, but it generates a core dump. The same happens in R-1.5.1.
Cheers, Jonathan.
