Social science, cluster and multivariate are the most obvious ones. There seem to be a lot of packages (quite in your face, if I may say so) for finance and econometrics (however this is a good thing, mostly...). However, marketing focused packages seem to be

Search and extract string function
Hi all, I'm trying to write a function that will search and extract from a long character string, but with a twist: I want to use the characters before and the characters after what I want to extract as reference points. For example, say I'm working with data entries that looks like this: Drink=Coffee:Location=Office:Time=Morning:Market=Flat

Marketing 101
I have some general questions about marketing. Lot's of technical info but I was wondering how people are getting the business to begin with. I'm from the IT end of things but Telco is quite a bit different. Is cold calling still the way to go or networking? General stuff like that. Are there any resources on the web I can search for? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Predictive Analytics for Business, Marketing and Web (May 8-9 and June 5-6)
