Performance VPN over the internet
Hi 'tinc users'
I'm new whit tinc and this mail-list.
I like to build a vpn over the internet between two sites in Holland and
Germany. Are there some experience whit the performance (turn-a-round en
bandwidth) of a link. I want to use it for a 1,5Mb connection.
Greetings, Fred Krom.

mount.cifs is not working (smbclient does work), somekind of recursive content in mount-dir
...some kind of recursive content, similar to //server/dir in each
subdirectory:
/mnt/mnt_dir contains:
dira
dira2
dira3
/mnt/mnt_dir/dira also contains:
dira
dira2
dira3
Further down the folders, folder layout seems to be right, but files
are missing.
Any logical explanation?
Thanks in advance,
Marijn

Non TCP/IP traffic
...on IP
traffic? This would be the setup:
[NovellServer] <-_EtherNet_-> [Firewall] <-_Tinc_-> [Homeuser]
Can i make tinc route this IPX/SPX traffic and how do i make the firewall
route this traffic from one interface to the virtual tinc interface.
Is this at all possible?
Thanks,
Marijn Vriens.

A VPN is switched mode
...he tincd's but the VPN interface doesn't pass
it on.
What i think I am doing wrong is setting the "Subnet = 192.168.20.2/32".
However changing it to 192.168.20.0/24 doesn't solve the problem.
Can anybody give me a hint about what the correct setup should be?
Kind Regards,
Marijn.

[Bug 3070] New: Using recursive put always copies permissions
...ies permissions
Product: Portable OpenSSH
Version: -current
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P5
Component: sftp
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at mindrot.org
Reporter: marijn at bitpit.net
The -p option of the sftp put command is supposed to copy timestamps
and permissions, thereby implying that they are not copied when you
leave out the -p option.
This is only partly the case when you use the recursive option. When
using -r, permissions are always copied, regardless...

Hi Marijn,
Sorry for the lack of response on this. I didn't understand it
when it came in and I needed time to properly review it. Sunday
morning after a really good night's sleep seems like a good time
for that :-).
I've currently got this patch in an un-published branch.

Anyone signed up with Galaxyvoice lateley?
One of my buddies signed up with GV yesterday with a view to using them
on his * server. Problem is that the settings they gave him don't work
with asterisk. They do however work with X-Lite.
Any ideas? He's using the settings outlined on my web page.

[PATCH] New apodization functions
Hi all,
This patch adds two new apodization functions that I developed.
From my own test results (on quite a diverse dataset) they
outperform the current best apodizations by 0.05% - 0.1%
(depending on the specifics) on compression.
Here's a selection of the test results
*Apodization functions* ,Compres, Speed
partial_tukey(2) tukey(0.5) , 56.50 , 37.2x

[PATCH 0/9] drm: Annotate structs with __counted_by
Hi,
This is a batch of patches touching drm for preparing for the coming
implementation by GCC and Clang of the __counted_by attribute. Flexible
array members annotated with __counted_by can have their accesses
bounds-checked at run-time checking via CONFIG_UBSAN_BOUNDS (for array
indexing) and CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE (for strcpy/memcpy-family functions).

[PATCH v2 00/25] drm/dumb-buffers: Fix and improve buffer-size calculation
Dumb-buffer pitch and size is specified by width, height, bits-per-pixel
plus various hardware-specific alignments. The calculation of these
values is inconsistent and duplicated among drivers. The results for
formats with bpp < 8 are incorrect.
This series fixes this for most drivers. Default scanline pitch and
buffer size are now calculated with the existing 4CC helpers. There is
