software phones for Asterisk - is there a list?
Hello, Is there a list of software phones which will work with Asterisk? For Linux and Windows? I don't have any hardware yet, and before I buy anything I would like to know how Asterisk really works (with software "phones" for example). Tomek

There is a reason most NMS systems used SNMP in the past and REST apis past 7+ years. They don't use CLIs except toy Expect type scripts.. Not just security but better error handling and more. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2790 ------- Comment #5 from mangoo@interia.pl 2006-03-29 04:11 MST ------- I'm just curious. Suppose I have rsyncd running on Windows, and want to copy files from there to a Linux machine. The problem is that some characters (like German umlauts - ü, ö, ä etc.) are changed to ? when saved on the Linux side. Where should I app...

multiseat support in LightDM?
Does LightDM support multiseat setups? For example, I have a PC with multiple graphics cards, monitors, keyboards - used by multiple users concurrently. Will LightDM let me use one PC by many users concurrently (i.e. login screen on every monitor, allowing to start different sessions for different users). -- Tomasz Chmielewski http://wpkg.org

Problem Connecting to Samba-OpenLDAP PDC
I have made some changes to try and get the PDC working and now I am down to one thing where I believe the problem lies. All such documents on the setup show that the addition of users to the PDC should be added to passwd as well as LDAP but for my system that is not the case. I am running the listed software: Fedora Core 4 OpenLDAP 2.2.23 Samba 3.0.14a This is what currently happens when I

encrypted rsyncd - why was it never implemented?
rsync in daemon mode is very powerful, yet it comes with one big disadvantage: data is sent in plain. The workarounds are not really satisfying: - use VPN - one needs to set up an extra service, not always possible - use stunnel - as above - use SSH - is not as powerful as in daemon mode (i.e. read only access, chroot, easy way of adding/modifying users and modules etc.) Why was encrypted
