Hello, I have a dovecot 2.2.6 on a Linux platform. I have configured manageseive extension. I have opened the manageseive port (4190) to entire world. (since I need my thunderbird and other clients to create seive scripts). Because you must specify the compiled Dovecot sources, is managesieve just "loosly" connected to Dovecot so it would survive a Dovecot (minor) update, or do I need to compile managesieve each time as well? If I need to compile each time, managesive should default to install into the same directory than Dovecot, shouldn't it? Hi I build dovecot 2.0.16 and and dovecot-pigeonhole-0.2.5 on two machines with the same options. The config files are equivalent. On the first machine everything works fine - on the second dovecot with managesive won't start (without sieve protocol it does). When I try to access the filter with roundcube (from another vm) I get the error message "Cannot connect to Managesieve-Server". I've been simultaneously learning about dovecot and experimenting with the 1.2.alpha4. To start I built an rpm under CentOS 5.2 from: dovecot-1.2.alpha4.tar.gz dovecot-1.2-managesieve-0.11.2.tar.gz dovecot-1.2.alpha4-managesieve-0.11.2.diff.gz dovecot-1.2.alpha4.tar.gz dovecot-1.2-sieve-0.1.2.tar.gz and then setup with mysql to use virtual users. Mail-wise, it all works. :)

Hi all. I'm looking for an editor for sieve-scripts. I tried the Squirrelmail plugin "avelsieve", but it requires "timsieved", wich Dovecot doesn't use. I don't want my users to write sieve-scripts on the console and server-side-filtering is absolutely required.
