[Bug 73342] New: nouveau not working with yuy2 overlay
...ter: fbs777 at gmail.com
Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: NEW
Version: 7.7 (2011)
Component: Driver/nouveau
Product: xorg
For many years im using ubuntu (since nouveau becomes the default nvidia
driver) and never have problem with the yuy2 scalemode mame option, so i think
there's a regression with nouveau version in ubuntu 13.10.
I cant get video when open mame with "-video soft -sm yuy2" options using the
nouveau driver. The game runs with sound, but in full black screen.
Using "-video soft -sm none" the game runs with vi...

there isn't any linux emus for this.

fine, everything is ok, but it uses 100% CPU, and becouse of that, the soung
goes wrongs somethimes.
I don't know why it is takes so mutch work to wine... Callus emulate only 66

VxDs in Wine
I would like to see Mame/32 working in Wine, however, it uses a couple
of VxDs to do some things (I think it is timing and joysticks).
Normally VxD's do not work in Wine, but Mame/32 is open source. With
access to the source code of the VxD's, would it be possible to modify
the VxD files to work with Wine? If so,...

Has anyone gotten this to work at all? I'm trying to be able to use
linux snes9x + netplay, but i can't quite make it compatible with the
windows snes9x netplay. Any thoughts on this would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance.

yuy2 not working in ubuntu 13.10
For many years im using the ubuntu with nouveau and the yuy2 scalemode in
mame. I think the last one was 11.10 or 12.04, not sure.
Now in the ubuntu 13.10 the yuy2 scalemode dont work in mame, but works
fine with the intel driver.
Tested with the kernels 3.11 and 3.12 from the ubuntu repository.
I think there's a regression in the nouveau used in ubuntu 13.10 with yuy2....

None of those. Just pulling out the files necessary and compiling
them into a library - that's the way it was done when it was added to
MAME/MESS.

GCC/clang compilation issues
Hi,
I finally got around to trying to update FLAC for the MAME/MESS
project again. There were several issues I was able to fix and will
submit patches later, but I hit one roadblock with GCC and clang:
src/lib/libflac/libFLAC/stream_encoder.c:1696:43: error: cast from function call
of type 'double' to non-matching type 'FLAC__int32' (a...

Maybe - I usually don't try to change the basics of code, but try to
fix the errors properly.
I overlooked that code since it didn't exist in 1.2.1 and 1.3.0 and
we never set the CPU defines before for MAME/MESS (will look into
that).

Frustrating inability to boot amd64
At this point, I've been through 4 AMD64 motherboards. Commonly,
AE_BAD_CHARACTER stops ACPI (or apic?) from figuring out the system
--- this has happened on 3 out of four boards. On this latest board,
it can turn off APIC. If I do that, FreeBSD hangs after detecting the
disks. The only "wrong" thing on the screen is

bootable floppy image question
...nd then
eventually resized with mkdosfs. But I've come to the point where I can
find no solution.
To be specific, I would like to use windows xp pe bootable cd like an
image. Anyway, it doesn't neccessarily have to be winxp pe, it could, for
example, be any live linux cd (movix, knoppix mame...). I just want to
know how to create (or use already created) *.iso image that will work
with memdisk's multiple choices.
Best regards,

My last post buggered - FWD about patch version2
...ly-current-screen option to compiz which tell it to only manage
the screen defined by $DISPLAY and leave the others alone.
With this patch I can finally use Compiz on my desktop monitor
(DISPLAY=:0.0) while TV-out (DISPLAY=:0.1) is independently running
fullscreen apps like MPlayer/MAME/ZSnes/MythTV/etc...

PATCH for cpu.c
Hi,
after having some discussion of the FPU/SSE behavior on the sf.net
bug tracker as well as having some other changes we made for the
MAME/MESS project sitting around I thought about joining this list to
make things easier.
First one is the latest modification we had to make to compile with
clang 3.4 x64. Here are the warnings the 1.2.1 source will give with
it:
src/lib/libflac/libFLAC/cpu.c:90:23: error: unused variable 'FLA...

Printer Driver Download Problem - PPD's Not DL'ing
Hey All, just a quick question about printer upload/download stuff
that's been confusing the hell out of me for a couple days...
This might be a Samba, or a CUPS problem, so i've posted this on both
newsgroups, but if anyone's had a similar problem I'd really appreciate
any help!
I'm running Samba 2.2.7 and CUPS 1.1.17 on a RedHat 7.3 System.. I'm

and have two RPI3s each with a Trimble RES 360 Carrier Board. Since I
already have this hardware providing approximately 1uS time accuracy
(wouldn't want to be late for dinner), I thought I might try using them
for ADs too.

I agree with you but circumstances (such as I retired) made me change my
mind. I have Dell R710s one of which functions as my AD as well as
performing other server tasks. I prefer to run CentOS 7 but given RHEL's
refusal to support Samba...

Also, if I do need extensions, I'd prefer to install it via the package
manager system rather than through a special web interface...
Does anyone know more about this? Any help would be appreciated. -
Except, that is, I don't really need anyone to suggest switching to MAME
or some other alternative desktop. I might end up doing just that, but
it really bugs me that I can't get functionality that's supposed to be
there to work...
