How to run a model 1000 times, while saving coefficients each time?
Hello, We have written a program (below) to model the effect of a covariate on observed values of a response variable (using only 80% of the rows in our dataframe) and then use that model to calculate predicted values for the remaining 20% of the rows. Then, we compare the observed vs. predicted values using a linear model and inspect that model's coefficients and its R2 value. We wish

monty's branch test
Hello! I tested some songs with the new code that Monty merged into the snapshot. It works better than the previous code ;-), but I noticed some strange noises made at high frequencies, even at very high bitrates : a continuous, high-pitched noise is added over the medium voice, and it sounds like a whistle. The previous code didn't do that. On the other hand, very low bitrates sound much

Rails Cookbook review
Guys: Stuck at the mall today, and just had to crack Rails Cookbook, by O''Reily. It had a recipe for accepting dynamically created forms. The sample output looked like this (reconstructed): p params[:my_form] > ["1-1" => 0, "1-2" => 0, "1-3" => 0, "2-1" => 0, "2-2" => 0, "2-3" => 0,

Barter Accounting Software
We are looking to create a robust accounting software for the barter industry. The software would need to track balances and have a phone and online authorization system to check against current balances and approve or decline the transaction. The platform would also need to separate regional offices and sales commission splits. We would need a shopping mall for member listings of goods and

Any 24 (or 30) way FXS PCI cards?
It seems to me silly to have a T1/E1 card to connect to a channel bank when you could just have a 24/30 way FXS card in the slot in the first place. Does such a thing exist? Wouldn't Digium have a lot of customers if they could produce one for say < $1000 retail?

...DecisionStats?a=Q2eyXl> A Framework for Diners<http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/DecisionStats/~3/431922290/> Posted: 25 Oct 2008 08:48 AM CDT I thought of opening my own diner, but how to decide where to locate it ? Note this is a generic model that can also be used to things like shopping malls, or even an service dealership , or any facility that is dependent on nearby population density. Here is the approach and it is called Ohri Dhaba Framework (in case you wish to use it, as I have the copyright ,thank you")- 1) Take Google Earth or Any GIS data for mapping specific zones of C...

Character entry mismatch in the console window
Dear R users, I have just de-installed my old R 2.4.1 and installed R 2.7.0. I downloaded this version from the South African mirror, as I am currently working in South Africa. When trying to paste any of my old analyses into the console (I keep them in word-documents), I get an error when I first try to load the data with the following line (example): lap.long.dist <-

plot.logistic.fit.fnc
Hello, I can not get the function plot.logistic.fit.fnc() working....it returns "Error: could not find function "plot.logistic.fit.fnc"". Do I need to upload as specific package first? I am trying to check the fit of a mixed logistic model. Also, any advice for checking the assumption of independence in a mixed logistic model? Many thanks in advance, Sarah Foster

lattice regression coefficients
Dear list I am sorry to have to ask this question, but I have not been able to find a solution to what seems a simple problem. I have created a lattice plot of a number of regression points and lines using a function containing panel.xyplot and panel.lmline. The result is what is expected , but I cannot figure out how to obtain the coefficients of each of the regression lines. Any help

BOUNTY POSTED - Zaptel drivers for *BSD
http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000847 I'm placing a $250 bounty on getting Zaptel drivers working under BSD. While the 'hood' is open on this, we'd like to have drivers completed for FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD on the x86 platform (other platforms optional). This needs to be done in a timely fashion. I'd like it completed by 6/30/2004, but once the project
