[LLVMdev] Optimization opportunity
Fair enough... The following tests under MultiSource fail: Benchmarks/Olden/power Benchmarks/OptimizerEval Benchmarks/Ptrdist/ks Benchmarks/MallocBench/perl Applications/sgefa However, they also fail in the exact same way without my change. OptimizerEval appears to be non-deterministic; it produces different output each time it runs. Everything else passes. I also compared a few *.s files generated by the tests, with and without my change, to s...

[LLVMdev] Recent compile time performance regressions
Hi, I was just browsing my LNT performance builder and it seems within the last month we managed to increase compile time from 37 to 47 seconds for the bullet benchmark: http://llvm.org/perf/db_default/v4/nts/graph?plot.0=34.274.3&highlight_run=29054 A similar pattern can be seen for MallocBench/gs/gs where we go from 5.3 to 7.4 seconds. http://llvm.org/perf/db_default/v4/nts/graph?plot.0=34.301.3&highlight_run=29054 One contributing patch seems to be the following one (surprisingly): Author: Chandler Carruth <chandlerc at gmail.com> Date: Fri Jun 27 15:13:01 2014 +0000...

[LLVMdev] Linux Bit Rot
All, It seems there's been some llvm bit rot on Linux recently. The tester on Zion is getting wedged so it appears to never finish. I experienced the same thing when running the llc compiled version of MultiSource/Benchmarks/MallocBench/espresso. It went into an infinite loop. I have just set up a new nightly tester (machine=70) which you can view at: http://llvm.org/nightlytest/test.php?machine=70&night=1247 Last night this test managed to finish but exhibits large numbers of failures. llc-beta fails on every compile. [LLVMdev] Optimization opportunity
Jeff, Chris isn't likely to respond to this for a while as he's on vacation. I'll take a look at it and will commit it if it looks good. Since code gen isn't my specialty, could you increase my comfort level a little by giving me some examples of the test results you got when testing your patches? Ideally, I'd like to see some of the test/Programs/MultiSource programs working
