How to run a model 1000 times, while saving coefficients each time?
Hello,
We have written a program (below) to model the effect of a covariate on
observed values of a response variable (using only 80% of the rows in
our dataframe) and then use that model to calculate predicted values for
the remaining 20% of the rows. Then, we compare the observed vs.
predicted values using a linear model and inspect that model's
coefficients and its R2 value.
We wish

monty's branch test
Hello!
I tested some songs with the new code that Monty merged into the snapshot.
It works better than the previous code ;-), but I noticed some strange
noises made at high frequencies, even at very high bitrates : a continuous,
high-pitched noise is added over the medium voice, and it sounds like a
whistle. The previous code didn't do that. On the other hand, very low
bitrates sound much

Rails Cookbook review
Guys:
Stuck at the mall today, and just had to crack Rails Cookbook, by O''Reily. It
had a recipe for accepting dynamically created forms. The sample output looked
like this (reconstructed):
p params[:my_form]
> ["1-1" => 0, "1-2" => 0, "1-3" => 0, "2-1" => 0, "2-2" => 0,
"2-3" => 0,

Barter Accounting Software
We are looking to create a robust accounting software for the barter
industry. The software would need to track balances and have a phone
and online authorization system to check against current balances and
approve or decline the transaction. The platform would also need to
separate regional offices and sales commission splits. We would need a
shopping mall for member listings of goods and

Any 24 (or 30) way FXS PCI cards?
It seems to me silly to have a T1/E1 card to connect to a channel bank
when you could just have a 24/30 way FXS card in the slot in the first
place.
Does such a thing exist?
Wouldn't Digium have a lot of customers if they could produce one for
say < $1000 retail?

Fwd: Decision Stats
Dear Lists,
Here are my latest posts on retrenching and locating facilities better. Do
you have anything in academic papers that use data mining- analytics for
1) Better Employee ROI quantitative measurement or cutting costs rationally
based on data rather across the board.
2) Locating facilities based on pure quant based approaches than local
supply demand conditions.

Character entry mismatch in the console window
Dear R users,
I have just de-installed my old R 2.4.1 and installed R 2.7.0. I
downloaded this version from the South African mirror, as I am currently
working in South Africa.
When trying to paste any of my old analyses into the console (I keep
them in word-documents), I get an error when I first try to load the
data with the following line (example):

Do public wifi block IAX port 4569
I've installed zoiper on my old phone and it works on my private network over wifi.
I'm using standard IAX port 4569, so this port is open on my firewall.
But when I catch open wifi network in a mall or a Tim Horton "zoiper" fail to register.
Do they block IAX port 4569 or IAX protocol?

centos 4 and hardware compatibility
Is centos 4 compatible with gateway 7400 server. We have some spare
gateway 7400 servers with 2 intel Pentium iii (FC-PGA Socket 370)
processors operating at 667 mhz. Are there any compatibility issues?
Fully supported?

plot.logistic.fit.fnc
Hello,
I can not get the function plot.logistic.fit.fnc() working....it
returns "Error: could not find function "plot.logistic.fit.fnc"".
Do I need to upload as specific package first? I am trying to check
the fit of a mixed logistic model.
Also, any advice for checking the assumption of independence in a
mixed logistic model?
Many thanks in advance,

lattice regression coefficients
Dear list
I am sorry to have to ask this question, but I have not been able to
find a solution to what seems a simple problem. I have created a
lattice plot of
a number of regression points and lines using a function containing
panel.xyplot and panel.lmline. The result is what is expected , but I
cannot figure out how to obtain the coefficients of each of the
regression lines. Any help

BOUNTY POSTED - Zaptel drivers for *BSD
http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000847
I'm placing a $250 bounty on getting Zaptel drivers working under BSD. While
the 'hood' is open on this, we'd like to have drivers completed for FreeBSD,
NetBSD, and OpenBSD on the x86 platform (other platforms optional).
This needs to be done in a timely fashion. I'd like it completed by
6/30/2004, but once the project

Asterisk mechandise reselers with good reputation
Can you folks recommend Asterisk merchandise resellers that have good
reputation?
So far I didn't have much luck except surfcity.com where I've ordered
their P104 phone.
I would like to purchase Sipura SPA-2100 and SPA-841 and "VOIP Telephony
with Asterisk" book.
So far I have poor experience with Voxilla and Asterisk Mall.
- Voxilla folks have no clue how to ship Warranty
