GnuGK + SIP Provider + Asterisk
hi, just change the problem in another email. I can
make calls from H323 to Sip, but cannot on the other
hand, i.e. from SIP to H323. I am thninking that the
asterisk don't response the REQUEST of the Sip
Provider. Or, the GNUGK don't do a response to the
asterisk that don't malke a response to the Sip
Provider!!!!
AnyIdea!?!? Thanks in advance.

64 Bit XP client unable to add ACE on 3.0.24 Samba Domain member server
...e for file sharing ACE entry operations?
Is there something in smb.conf on the server we could tweek to tackle this?
A newer version of Samba is possibly an option, but I generally like to leave
boxes that have been running rock solid alone.
I'd appreciate any info on this one.
Thanks

Winbind UID/GID unification across multiple machine solution
...problem
is solved because is uses local /etc files that are populated by the
client side daemon -- it's great since only one machine (the master
server) has the potential slowness and in my situation that machine
doesn't need to be fast -- it's job is mainly to do the mappings.

Samba 3 PDC with Vista clients
I searched around and couldn't get a clear answer on a Samba 3 PDC and the
ability to have a Vista "business edition" client:
1. Join the Samba 3 PDC domain for single sign-on.
2. Access Samba 3 PDC controlled shares
I read that as of Samba 3.0.21 or so that NTLMv2 works well with Vista
computers (which default to only NTLMv2) so they can work with Samba
provided shares. This is

Winbind running on Samba PDC for shell logins
...at NT domains (rpc)). Can
any of you that understand samba's internals really well think of
any "gotchas" I could avoid by use something else? I didn't test out
unix password sync, but I'm confident it will solve my problem equally
as well.
Thanks for any thoughts,

Wide open (security = share) w/ printers including driver download success story
Hi-
I wanted to share my experience w/ the list in getting a completely wide open
file and printer (w/ automagic driver download) with security = share setup
working.
My requirement was to setup a server for a small office of XP boxes w/ file and
printer sharing and had always done samba as domain controller w/ full logons
etc. No need for any security in this setup and I wanted to have the
