dovecot vs gnu-mailtools?
I'm about to implement dovecot and got to thinking
about gnu/mailtools. What are the advantages of dovecot
over gnu/mailtools? Does gnu/mailtools support maildir?

mailutil?
dbox format needs at least two tools:
1. Expunging only marks the message having refcount=0. The actual disk
space is freed only after calling a tool pointing to the user's dbox
dir.
2. Ability to force index resync/rebuild in case it doesn't figure out
itself that there's something wrong.
I'm starting to think about building a more generic mailutil tool, maybe
something similar

dag repo and perl dependencies naming
Hi
I'm trying to install amavisd-new from dag repo on centos3.
In the spec file perl dependencies use parenthesis: perl(Digest::MD5)
it also uses '-': perl-MailTools
The problem is that only the second notation is available: perl-MD5
I know this is an old problem. Is this only centos related?
Is there a workaround?
Do I have to modify the spec file? I'd like to use yum...

Looking for IMAP maintenance tools
Hi
I'm currently prowling for some IMAP tools to help me maintain our
mailboxes. I'd prefer "pure" IMAP, i.e. no messing with file system
directly, but would settle for more crude ways if need be.
Specifically I am looking for:
- Expunge tool: Outlook does not seem to auto-expunge messages in any
way shape or form. So I'd like to run a daily cron to expunge all

Slow on SunOS 4.1.4 (Eudora mailer)
I have a problem with __extremely__ slow performance using the Eudora mailtool. Both the executables and the mailbox are on (different) Samba servers.
I have played with all the combinations of placements for executables and mailbox, and what it amounts to is that the slowness happens with the mailbox on a SunOS 4.1.4 Samba server. It doesn't happen on a Solaris based Samba server.

title("NIS Strahlung", xlab="Sender", ylab="V/m")
Now I want to scale the y-axis

Dave,
According to RIM your server is probably changing the assigned serial number or code to mails frequently and because of that Blackberry server takes the same mail as new one and draws again.

change layout of legend
Is it possible to change the layout of a legend in the plot function for a plot that shows 4 variables, so that the legend shows the variables in a row with 4 elements instead of a column, or to have two columns and two rows in the legend. Also I can't seem to be able to change the size of the font used inside the legend.
Any suggestions?

Strange paste, string or package problem?
Hi
I came across this strange bug the other day, I'm not sure how to solve it
and I wonder if anyone can even replicate it.
Using OS Ubuntu 7.10
Step 1) Make an R package using the package.skeleton() command with
only these two functions:
error <- function(){
cmd <- paste(" -a ",1," -a ",1," -a ",1,

Perl516 SCL modules
Hi,
I'm trying to build several SCL perl516 modules for using assp spamfilter.
Some modules have dependencies which spend a lot of errors or can not be
build on a x86_64 system.
perl-Email-Valid-0.184 for example needs Win32::IPHelper and
Win32::TieRegistry.
If I build this rpm for standard perl510, the Win32 modules are not
required.
Why are theses dependencies only for perl516?
Can I

assign() won't work
Hey everyone, I've been searching the mail lists, and I can't find a real discussion about my problem. Here it is:
I have created a loop fitting various time series models to my data. I labeled each one of the outputs by using the assign and paste statements, i.e. assign(paste("group","subgroup",i),arima(...)). Works great, but here's what I need...
I want to
