Generating RTF documents?
Hi,
I need to implement some RTF export for a customer. According to some
"templates", i generate RTF documents, filling data coming from models.
It''s pretty much like a mailmerge, but in *nix/ruby world.
Also, customer would like (in the future) to upload himself the
templates, so he can modify them by his own.
Can anyone advice me on an elegant solution?
Thank you,
Jean-Etienne

Printing in Wine via "ttydrv"/how to disable print state window...
...s are not shown, but
at printing each page a state window is popping up with a message that
"the document ... is printed to file ..." or so.
Is there any way to disable this "print state window"? A registry key?
The automation use the COM interface and is using the MailMerge object,
running in preview mode, selecting each data set next to next and print
it each. Background printing is active.
Many thanks for any help in advance...

I wonder if you're starting from the wrong place. Maybe you would be better off creating your forms with tex and generating pdf's from that.
Running "mailmerge with tex" through google provides all sorts of write-up on how to do it.

Samba - Windows XP permissions issue
: I have an XP client running office XP. This is sitting on an network along
with an IBM RS6000. The RS6000 has SAMBA installed and configured so that
the XP client can see the RS6000 as though it is a network device. The user
opens a template in Word 2002 which creates a mailmerge document using VBA.
The VBA code gets the name of the document and the location for both the
document and the data from a control item which it reads in. The document
itself is stored on the RS6000 in one directory and the data file is stored
in a seperate directory on the RS6000. The document is c...

Frank,
I only wish that could be done. Unfortunately, the pdf file is not
ours and we did not create it.
I have downloaded pdftk 2.02 from the pdftk website and that fixed the
problem of not being able t...
