Can you "doveadm search" with mailbox location instead of a user (-u option)?
...import only certain emails from the source a search-query can be given as well. I was wondering if doveadm search also does offer to search a mailbox referenced by filesystem path i.e. doveadm search maildir:/srv/mailboxes/example.com/mailbox123 NEW Maybe a fixed mailbox location via "-o mailbox_location=maildir:/srv/mailboxes/example.com/mailbox123" does work, but then it's rather a side effect as one needs to define a user via "-u" parameter anyways. Converting from Maildir format ?
Hi again, I'm still trying to find out if anyone knows the correct way to either switch the existing Maildir multiple file format to the single file format I believe known as MBox. Failing that, though it'll mean a LOT of work for me to manually convert all of the existing Maildirs, how do I get dovecot to work in future in MBox single file format. I tried

default_mail_env renaming
I was thinking about renaming default_mail_env to something that is more understandable. I'll keep it working for backwards compatibility anyway. How about: # Location for users' mailboxes. This is the same as the old default_mail_env # setting. The default is empty, which means that Dovecot tries to find the # mailboxes automatically. This won't work if the user doesn't have any

"doveadm backup/sync" are badly documented
Most documents around there talk abour "dsync", but the modern way is "doveadm backup". This command is not documented in the wiki and there are a few details missing, like how to use it thru SSH. I am currently doing some tests about how to backup my mdbox. I can do tests in local using: $ doveadm backup -u jcea -m proveedores/dovecot mdbox:/tmp/aa/ This will

Shared folders - Namespace definition
Hello, I'm trying to configure shared mailboxes with ACL. My problem is FS layout. Our maildirs is completely outside of home dirs (home dirs is on pure SSD zpool, maildirs on separate HDD zpool). We are using checkpassword auth, which sets mailbox_location for each user. Layout is following: maildirs: /dpool/mail/maldirs/user-uuid/ home is: /dpool/mail/home/user-uuid/ index & control is under home: /dpool/mail/home/user-uuid/[index|control] the problem is how to specify path in NAMESPACE definition. I can use %% variables, but mai...
