Dovecot - mail_crypt - lmtp-server - no password to decrypt the key
I have been using postfix+dovecot successfully for a while now until I
tried mail crypt plugin lately. I tried what is describe here

Hi all,
I just joined the list. I've read through the mail-crypt plugin docs
here https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/mail_crypt_plugin/
I'm still unclear (I'm not an expert) about the following: Is it
possible to obtain on-the-fly encrypted storage using the user's
password without the password being stored on the server? Basically a
zero-knowledge solution.

I am using dovecot 2.3.16, along with postfix and a PostgreSQL database for managing virtual accounts.
I'd like to start using the mail-crypt plugin. However, I'm having a bit some difficulty understanding the documentation at
https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/mail_crypt_plugin
to reach my goal. I plan to ask questions about those issues by starting new threads in this mailing list. But before I even come to that, I'd like to investigate the following:
The above documentation only addresses a clean install and doesn't seem to mention encrypting already existent...

I use dovecot 2.3.4.1 in Debian 10.
And I use of mail-crypt-plugin

Setting up the mail-crypt plugin with virtual accounts that have no home directories
...doing my own research, I believe the following should be possible:
I'd like to use the password of virtual email accounts to let dovecot encrypt/decrypt the keys needed to encrypt/decrypt the mail in the relevant folders.
As per the documentation @ https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/mail_crypt_plugin/ I believe this would be all the configuration I need:

mail_attribute_dict = file:%h/Maildir/dovecot-attributes
mail_plugins = $mail_plugins mail_crypt

At rest encryption (with protected crypto keys)
...like 2FA, but that's a different story.
I think the current possibility of at rest encryption is not well
applied enough. Is this something that's on the agenda to improve? Or
am I missing something? Is there a better way of doing this?

Plugin "mail_crypt" does not work
Hi, i have a problem. I sent test e-mail.
It is in folder "Sent", but it was not delivered (folder "Inbox" is empty).
/var/log/dovecot:
